Re: P&H Scorpio Corelite-X Blue MV MK 11

Selling my P&H Scorpio Corelite-X Blue MV I’ve owned the boat from new, it’s the turquoise blue colour with yellow deck lines and the lighter corelight-x model. Usual landing marks but not had a great deal of use as I live in the midlands and don’t get to the sea that often. £950 https://media.ukri...

Re: Carrying Systems Advice

Chris,

Thanks for the response.

I really get what you’re saying about the inflatable bars, I’m always nervous whenever I’m carrying my boat as it is.

I think I’ll look for a universal rack like you had on your hire car.

Cheers,

Spence

Carrying Systems Advice

Morning all, looking for some advice please. I will be storing my boat at a house by the coast and the challenge I have is that I will always be visiting in a hire car. So really need to keep a universal carrying system with the boat at the house that’s interchangeable between different makes of car...

Midlands Sea Kayaking

Just a shout out to increase my network of sea kayaking
pals in the Midlands.
Happy to travel most places for Day trips or weekenders.
A few of us regularly go to Anglesey.
The more the merrier.
Cheers,

Where are you, Spence? If you're anywhere near me, you can call in and have a try at sitting in my GT seat.
Hi Chris, just seen the message.
I’m in the Midlands but travel all over, where you based?

Re: First Composite Boat Help

Hi Spence Some high volume sea kayaks are seriously massive and you might find them just too big unless fully loaded. The Rockpool GT is a great boat but the cockpit is not overly generous and the seat can be a bit narrow for some. The Rockpool Menai18 might be an alternative. It's very, very big b...

Re: First Composite Boat Help

I'd hazard a safe guess that "paddler weight" is the weight of the paddler - so yes, you and your paddling gear. But not including any kit you carry in the boat. I'm 6'2" and 104 kg "out of the shower", and really like my new-to-me Xplore X. So yes, that's a boat to consider. If it's too big (and i...

Re: First Composite Boat Help

I wouldn't worry too much about the weight for the Rockpool GT - it will take a lot of gear. I've probably had 60kg of camping gear, food and drink in mine, plus my 75kg. But I would check whether you can fit in the seat - my son is about 95kg, and he won't fit in mine. Ah thanks Chris, he’s simila...

First Composite Boat Help

Looking for some advice please folks. I’m in the market for my first composite boat and need some recommendations. 6ft and 100kg Concerned at recommended paddler weights, are they fully loaded with all your gear on? At the moment I’m looking at a Rockpool GT or Northshore Atlantic. Have a Scorpio my...

Hi, I'm in the Midlands and about to complete my 3* Looking to hook with like minded sea kayakers too. Usually paddle in Anglesey and Studland Bay but always open for new trips. Practice in the Avon Rescues etc in the summer evenings. Usual paddling partner is just completing his 4* Leader so more p...
