Re: Marine Biopolymers - Kelp Harvesting

During the winter storms, tonnes of seaweed is washed up naturally on beaches everywhere. I wonder why they can't use this? That would not only clear the beaches, but would be easier than dredging.

Re: Wanted- Prijon rudder kit or help!!!

Kayaks and Paddles do rudder kits that fit Prijon boats, I think. Or something like this maybe? http://www.cornwall-canoes.co.uk/equipm ... er-kit.htm

Re: For Sale - Valley Aleut 2 Tandem sea kayak

Worse thing I ever did was sell my Aleut. Brilliant boats.

If only I could justify having one again......

Re: VHF Radio Test Calls

The Longroom (who watch over Plymouth Sound) do vhf checks if you call them up on Ch14, they always sound down happy enough. I normally stay off 16 though, if it works on 14, it'll work on 16......that's my theory anyway!

Re: Which PLB do you use? Is it waterproof?

Nautilus Lifeline, properly waterproof (dive with it) and it's a vhf too. I don't know how the McMurdo units work, so they could well be better if they use satellites?

Re: Tent with a big porch?

Have a look at the Vango Force 10 Titan 200. 1.5kg over your weight target, but half your budget?

Re: Family paddling in Plymouth Sound and estuaries

Give Danny at Discovery Divers at Bovisand a call. He hires sit on tops from there that you can try, access to the water is sheltered and you can paddle either back into the sound, or along the coast towards Heybrook bay. Great place to go from, parking is easy (reasonable rates too), site is secure...

Re: What glue?

Apologies for no intro before the first post......

Sikaflex or CT1 are very good, specially in the marine environment.
