Re: CT charges

I was told that due to H&S I must wear one fulfil the H&S regs Somewhat pedantic, but there are no regulations from the HSE that state this, Im sure they this requirement will come from CT's own risk assesment and policy. It is a bit disingenous to blame it on the 'spoil sport HSE' rather than simp...

Re: Weight of New Boats

my guess would be that the quoted weights are just the boat shell, and don't include any outfitting such as seat, central pillers etc.... That would seem like an odd thing to do. Surely the boat weight is with all the bits that make the boat fitted?! I wouldnt be suprised if the stated weight was s...

Re: Car friendly Roof straps

I adapted my roof rack straps with a product called sugru, putting it on all the protruding edges. Works great and I coloured coded them so I can quickly tell that the bundle of straps in my car boot contains all the sets of straps it should.

Can anyone suggest what the minimum time that is needed to get to the paddling destinations within Chile from Santiago? What are the closest 'good' rivers?

Short visit to Santiago, Chile- paddling options?

I might be lucky enough to have a day or even two in Santiago, Chile to myself while there on a work trip. Is there any paddling close enough to the city to do in a day?

Any advice from those who have been before would be great, thanks!

Re: Little cars and kayaking

They're fine. I had a 1 litre corsa for about five years. One person and boat in car - nice and cheap. Two people two boats - brilliant and good mileage if you stick to speed limits. Went out to Austria for two weeks with two people and it was fine apart from the lack of air conditioning and the co...

Wanted: small creek/river boat

Looking for a small creek or river kayak, mainly looking for a Small Burn but will also consider an ammo and many other boats.
Ideally should have a planning hull with rails, decent volume for a small boat and good comfy outfitting.

Open to ideas, what have you got?

Based in south Devon.

Before recycling, offering them up to a free home even in a poor state, someone might be able to reuse them, nearly always better than recycling.

Re: THE USUAL INSIDIOUS MIS-INFORMATION

I've just looked at the EA website regarding Riparian Ownership and some of their responsibilities. It has the following comment on the page: If you own land adjoining a watercourse, you have certain rights and responsibilities. In legal terms you are a 'riparian owner'. (A watercourse is any natur...

If you have used any other source, whether it be a book, magazine, website or someone else's verbal knowledge it is only right and decent to reference or acknowledge the source.

If its all your own, fresh knowledge then fine, no referance needed.
