Re: Sea Kayak Helmet Comfortable - Are There Any?
I bought one of these which I find comfortable but I guess it depends on your head! They have removable bits in the foam cell and adjustable/removable ear pieces. You can add a peak which flips back when you punch a wave rather than whipping your head back, or a peak with a go pro mount if you’re th...

Re: VHF and training
I liked the HX300E , partly for the floating, mainly for the USB charging as I have a battery pack on board which makes it easy to recharge if we end up stuck on a beach somewhere. I pack any connection points on anything with contralube to try and help with keeping the sea water at bay.

Re: Paddle britches
I’ve got the yellow north water britches on my delphin, they seem pretty good at not moving anywhere due to the location of the decklines and the hull fitting, I’ve been the wrong way up without losing anything so far but I can’t vouch for a 2 metre swell

Re: Autumn clothing
I'm no expert but I originally thought crikey I'll need an expensive dry suit for the winter, or dry trousers etc, turns out I've been quite happy with my various combinations of Fourth Element thermocline vest, musto dinghy racing gear, and wetsuit/neoprene vest/jacket. Seems to work fine for me su...

if it's air locking it must be to do with the discharge hose and the way it is lying I'd think, not had that so can't really help. I know switches can be troublesome but I do like having the option of a manual override.

Re: Have you a useful dashboard method/position suggestion?
I reckon if you've got a neoprene deck the best bet is to take your spraydeck to a wetsuit repairer and get them to sew on a custom pocket with a little d ring inside to clip it to, that's my vote

These folks do a bewildering array of mounts, if you're not averse to fixing the little ball through the deck you can then spur off with single or double mounts and most importantly they do an excellent coffee cup holder! https://www.ram-mount.co.uk/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI97---6Hw1QIVLJPtCh3qfwW9EAAYASA...

I've kept the flappy whale one in, I originally fitted a discharge in the hatch which had a hinged flap on it as an additional keeping the water out device, you can see it on the photo earlier in the thread. Since then I've decided to make some more room in my rear hatch and I think I'll put a stand...

Re: Fitting Bilge Pump to Delphin 155
I reckon you just need to change your discharge pipe so it has a smooth outflow and no sharp kink, I tried mine with and without the NRV because everyone said it makes a lot of difference to the flow rate but can't say that I noticed much difference at all

As far as make goes I'm a fan of the little yuasa batteries, readily available at maplins, or online, just make sure you get it from an authorised dealer or it'll be fake. Size is up to you really, general consensus seems to be from 1.2ah which I think is a bit small to my massive battery which I us...

My non whirring auto pump goes down to about an inch in auto mode, then I can flick it into manual to get it down to the last few mm if I want. I get where you're coming from, I had a bad experience with a kayak that has one of those centre supports between your knees, I still won't get in one to this day, best thing you can do is do a bit of capsizing near the shore with a buddy in the water To build up confidence in exiting, I'm quite hap...

My brother in law discovered the same thing with his Capella, paddled round to the pub in newlyn from mousehole, grabbed a bit of shopping from the co-op and a Chinese takeaway and discovered a totally different kayak on the way home, he'd had it for about 8 years and never put anything in it before...
