Re: Alps late summer?

The Gyr will probably be good to go as will the Veneon.

The verdon releases tuesdays and Fridays (I think) - it's an epic trip but quite a long drive from Briancon.

The dora baltea may also be an option if you don't mind driving north for a bit.

Re: Boat Hire In Norway

Speaking of which, has anyone ever tried renting cars with roof racks in Norway? If so, how painful is it?

The annual alpine snowpack thread..

It's possible I've missed the original thread on this, but does anyone have any info on what the snowpack is looking like in the alps this season?

Myself and some friends are heading to france and austria in June/July and wondering what levels we can hope for..

Re: River Affric

You actually got a good level on this run? Please tell how! I've been in this area when the garry is on massive release and driven up here to still find it dry. Does it have freshet releases or do you just have to get lucky?

Re: Abhain Deabhag

Ok fair it looks like we did this run at the wrong level then. I wouldn't want to put people off this run if it's as good as you say it is so is there any chance you could write up a better guide for it? Ideally with pictures if you have any. Kizzie_st_As and I are trying to make the guides as up to...

Re: Abhain Deabhag

Glad to hear it gets better with more water! My friends have only just forgiven me for our first run of that river so I might get in trouble if I take them again! On the other hand I can definitely see it cleaning up with better levels, so folk who enjoy their "total topo" style paddling could have ...
