Re: Insurance and qualifications

This threads drifting a bit, so back to the OPs original question So whats to prevent soneone like me with a couple of years of paddling experience from taking club members out for a gentle paddle on the sea in fair weather - before I get a sea kayak leader award (which will take me a while) ? . Not...

Re: Insurance and qualifications

I don't know if anyone has been sued or not, but if someone receives (for example) a life changing injury, meaning they need some kind of regular care, and also have a loss of earnings over their lifetime, and they were on a club trip when whatever caused it happened, and if it was due to a negligen...

Re: Gd 2-3 in the Oetz area early August

Thanks for the replies. Not seen rivermap before, it's pretty good, with more easier sections marked than riverapp.

Any other recommendations anyone? Up to maybe a couple of hours away from Oetz?

Cheers

Gd 2-3 in the Oetz area early August

Going on a family holiday to this area in August, hoping to do some easy 2-3 sections with the family. Was wondering if anyone can give some pointers for easier sections of the Inn/Oetz/Rosanna etc. I've got the guidebook and have been a couple of times myself so know the area, just looking for some...

Re: Access and facility charging at Canolfan Tryweryn

The Tryweryn is a great facility all round. I don't understand anyone begrudging the cost with the shuttles, changing facilities and site upkeep costs. Why would you walk 1km carrying your boat using all that energy when it is better spent on the river, all for the sake of £14! What I do begrudge is...

Re: Mass outbreak of Trent trots!

Most people I know who paddle there have had it, including me, more than once. Regular visits soon build resistance though. Its hardly exaggerating it

Re: Taping shoulders - best tape?

I've used tape for several different activities over the years, most recently kayaking. The stuff I use is this: http://www.firstaid4sport.co.uk/Steroplast-Twin-Pack-Sports-Taping-Kit-P4585/ I put it on as I was shown by a physio about 15 years ago (or rather my wife/paddling buddy puts it on me).
