Re: Jackson Allstar Elite Red/white with the works!

Depending on which astral BA and it's size, I may be very interested in buying it!
Could you let me know, possibly with pictures? Thanks

Re: Trouble with fishermen!

Sorry, I didn't make that clear - The Wye did have water, easily suitable for paddling, and we were intending to paddle between Builth Wells and Boughrood. I think as a club we agreed that a few miles of flat water and one feature wasn't worth the fuss, but it was a shame to cut the trip short like ...

Trouble with fishermen!

This weekend we organised an early kayaking trip to the Wye and Usk for our university Freshers. The Usk was dog low and we ended up pushing ourselves down most of the 8km, as apposed to paddling, but spirits were still high and we met no problems. However the following day we drove to the Wye, and ...

Re: Advice on BA purchase

Well in terms of use I'll be probably river leading on grade 2/3 and then the odd Grade 4 in my own time (maybe 2 weeks per year?) so I'd rather it be up to scratch! And apparently the seller was on the sickline safety team last year and was informed that the BAs had to be below a certain age - but ...

Re: Advice on BA purchase

Thanks everyone for the responses! The reason the Astral is being sold is the owner will be taking part in Sickline and needs to meet their BA standards - the peak is being sold due to muscle injury. Unfortunately I don't have the Astral to test the buoyancy or the foam consistency, but the owner cl...

Advice on BA purchase

Hi, I started kayaking this year and think it's about time to stop using my university's club BA's and buy my own rescue BA (I've completed WWSR and plan on attempting AWWSR next year). Due to being a student, my budget is a bit tight, so I'd prefer to buy second hand. So far I've come across a 3 mo...

Re: Advice for purchasing priorities?

Well, 4 months later and I've bought myself a cranked carbon Robson Fluid Pro paddle from an old club member - A little rough around the edges but definitely worth the low low price of £50! Already I can feel the difference in my ability, so if anyone is reading this in the future, I'd advise consid...

Re: River Pattack

Ran the Pattack last week, there's a fallen tree across the whole river about 50m downstream of the putin - but it was easily portaged on river right. Also, the tree on the last drop is still there, but the branches have all snapped off leaving sharp half foot spikes allong the trunk. However it is ...

Re: Advice for purchasing priorities?

Woah there dave, I feel the need to reassure you! This post hasn't painted a very good picture of myself, as I very rarely splurge my cash - I usually pride myself on my day to day tight-wad-edness... I'm typing this now whilst eating a 15p can of rice pudding, to give you an idea. I just think that...

Re: Advice for purchasing priorities?

Well we're going in for a couple of courses in the summer term; WWSR, 2* and 3* will be attempted, and we've got a discount already lined up - hopefully I can convince my parents that since it's improving my safety, they could put money towards them! Thanks for the advice about paddles everyone, I t...

Re: Advice for purchasing priorities?

Thanks, I had considered a paddle, but it falls down at the same problem I have with buying a boat - I'm not yet sure what aspect of kayaking I enjoy the most; I enjoy paddling grade 2/3 whitewater (eg. the upper Dee) as much as I enjoy playboating on weirs (eg. Hurley lock). I'm starting to feel th...

Advice for purchasing priorities?

I've found myself in a position that is almost unheard of for university students my age; I've got money saved up! I'm relatively new to kayaking, but I've joined my university Canoe club and have fallen in love with the sport - so much so that 4 months in and I've already purchased a helmet, boots ...

Re: Typhoon multi sport 4

Hi, I'm interested in buying and was wondering if you could send me any photos of the drysuit and it's condition?
Also, would it fit a slim 6" male?

My email is dan00130@hotmail.com

Thanks
