Re: How to reshape a bent kayak nose??
Tip for the future.... Kayak noses usually get stowed in as when waterlogged that will be the deepest / lowest part of the kayak (assuming you have air bags in the rear). Put a cheap lightweight football or other similar buoyancy behind your full plate footrest and in future that will help it sit hi...

Re: Helmets - need big a fitting (XL)
This doesn't get any easier. Gath don't fit (the guy in the shop said they were a small fitting helmet. Bern don't fit - but are certified to 1385 (the website is misleading though). I'm currently using a pro tec ace. Whilst it is certified it is very squishy. I guess my options are to buy a classic...

Re: Helmets - need big a fitting (XL)
Ta. It seems to be a relatively common matter for the kayaker. I have no issue at all with motorcycle helmets, pretty much any XL helmet fits. I'm planning to call in at http://www.powerkiteshop.com/kite-safety-crash-helmet.htm to try various CE1385 tested hats. In particular the Bern. Any other sug...

Re: Helmets - need big a fitting (XL)
61.5cm
The sweet helmets were quite a way off fitting with any level of comfort. And i don't much like the idea of buying a +£100 helmet then taking a knife to it. I only have 1 head so want a helmet that fits (off the shelf).

Helmets - need big a fitting (XL)
So i need a new helmet for my big bonce! Tried Shred Ready, WRSI, Sweet and all are too small. What else is worth a look? And from what retailers? My current helmet is a pro tec, which is very comfy but offers limited protection around the back of the head and around the ears. I'm looking for a whi...

Re: Anyone paddled a L Burn 2 & Burn 3 XL?
Thanks Oat for your experience of the Burn 3 XL. I wonder why your legs twisted? Could it be that the cockpit was wider & in so doing pushed your knees out putting pressure on your ankles & feet? Cheers, Ted. I think a wider cockpit, but i also didn't like the outfitting. The Burn 3 paddled well, n...

Re: New paddles - Fibreglass or Carbon?
Thanks folks - have to say i'm probably just as undecided. But, on balance, thinking werner powerhouse full carbon will be the winner this time. I will be avoiding anything called a foam core.
I have looked at VE and streamlyte - they may be options for me in the future for a playboat paddle.

Re: Anyone paddled a L Burn 2 & Burn 3 XL?
I have a Burn 2 L, before i bought it i tried a Burn 3 XL. Interestingly i too have sizes 12's... I find the Burn 2 to be quite comfortable. I found the Burn 3 to be quiet oddly uncomfortable, it somehow seemed to twist my legs in a way that did not agree with me at all, and the new seat was not as ...

New paddles - Fibreglass or Carbon?
Hi All I need a new set of paddles. I have pretty much decided on Werner powerhouse with a bent shaft, but i cannot decide on carbon or fibreglass blades. What are the benefits of fibreglass and the benefits of carbon? I am primarily concerned about strength. Weight is not really a consideration for...
