Re: Island Explorer LV sea kayak for sale Scotland

Yes, it is still for sale and it's in Linlithgow. I had someone earlier today asking for more details so I've just had it out with a measuring tape and can add these dimensions: Length: 548cm, width 56cm, cockpit height from inside hull to outside top of rim: 32cm. Let me know if there's anything el...

Re: Nottingham HPP White Water Course CLOSED for Slalom European

Why is the Pan Celtic Slalom competition in England, and not a Celtic country? Or am I missing something? Apparently it used to be a competition just between the Celtic countries, Scotland, Wales, Ireland (not sure who, if anyone, else) but then England got the hump at not being invited, so now it ...

Re: Ainsworth Polo Helmet

Ainsworth make helmets suitable for polo both with, and without air vents. (I would probably recommend one with, if you are playing inside mostly as mine gets quite hot - although it is nice when playing outside on very cold days) And yes, to fit it you do just drill holes and bolt it on. But think ...

Okay, I apologise if my argument was a bit vague (and incorrect) in parts, I was just trying to point out that the SCA isn't as great as some people seem to think. It is easy to knock the governing bodies, but harder to do something better. I may not agree with Spyder, but at least he is doing somet...

As a member of the SCA - can I add that it isn't as great as disgruntled BCU/canoe England members seem to imagine. Yes we have better river access, but that is more down to differing laws in Scotland (eg trespass has never been a law as far as I know), (I do realise that members of the SCA access c...

Theory being less surface area, less pressure - like a stilletto rather than a walking boot?
Surely less surface area would equal greater pressure? Or have I been teaching it wrong all year?

As soon as you drill holes in a helmet to fit a faceguard it is no longer CE approved anyway, unless the faceguard is fitted by the manufacturer and appoved with a faceguard. Yes, I know - this is what makes the BCU rule for polo so pointless!! and presumably why it has not been adopted anywhere el...

I was interested in the shensu for polo (there aren't many nice helmets about that you can fit a faceguard to due to the current popularity of peaks) but when I contacted SR a couple of months ago they said they had no plans to get it CE approved. (which would mean I couldn't use it in any BCU compe...
