SJ4000 GOPRO clone

SJ4000 lost on the Tweed at the Rutherford wave. Bit too shallow for rolls but too fast flowing to wade into for a search. Think it will wash downstream.

Re: Astral Green Jacket, Nookie Airhead Cag, Thule roof bars

Hey kate,

Is the Scrappy still for sale? If it is I'll take it and should be able to get something sorted for collection. Wife and I are on holiday near Looe from Thursday so could drive by yours on way down or arrange a meet.

Re: Lost paddle

We always hit the same spot on the right in the bigger water due to buggers putting rocks at the base closest to the ladder but it was pumping big style last week.
May be tempted by Makerstoun. Is Mark no taking a couple of lads out fae Hawick the now?

Lost paddle on the Ettrick

Green AT paddle lost on the Ettrick tonight at the Murrays cauld. Think it's pinned on the rocks under the water on the opposite side to the turbines. If anyone finds it either there or if its spat out and found downstream can you please message me. Pisser of a night.

Re: Lost paddle

Iain's gonna go down tomorrow morning to have a nosey. Was a really good paddle down the Yarrow and onto the Ettrick. Was running at 1.4 at Lindean. Biggest I've been down, it was over the top of the salmon ladder. I capsized too but thankfully got a roll in. He and the boat got held in. He got spat...

Re: Beginner video

It was running at 0.8 at Lindean and 0.5 at Brockhoperig but dropping. Manse falls was felt to be too low and I'm a bit crapper than iI think i am, so gave that a miss but the rest was great fun picking a line through the rocks. Got a right hammering at Makerstoun last week when the water was up. Tw...

Re: Beginner video

Seen your vid a few times when I was looking for Borders paddling vids. The bit at 10 secs, is that above Makerstoun at Rutherford? Some bits in yours that are in mine from today. Went down the Ettrick but skipped the Manse Falls. Not enough water so very rocky. Maybe next time. Starting to get the ...

Re: What have you found in the river while paddling

I think a few years back now, on one of the first Nile expeditions, a paddler found a live baby in a basket.

Re: Beginner video

The cauld that day was pumping on our normal line, just to river left of the ladder so we opted to go far out to the right as they've put rocks at the base on river right of the ladder so had to miss those. I got caught at the bottom of the cauld the week previous and took a swim. It was dead shallo...

Beginner video

1st post on this site and a wee video of myself and a mate coming down the Ettrick from Collins bridge to Selkirk. We played it safe and decided against the Manse Falls as water too big and only two of us. I've only been paddling for 6 months but seem to be doing OK but need more experience. I've be...
