Re: Update - Pinkston Watersports, Glasgow

Thanks for the update. When I watched the video in Jan I was wondering about exit locations - I'm hoping to use the course to work on my OC1 technique and it would be good not to have to swim to the bottom of the course to get out! It's easy to get out of an eddy using the Rapid Blocs Jim, we swam ...

Re: Pinkston Paddlesports WW course in Glasgow

Yup, we can't wait to get the short course running! All good ideas re sustainable energy, it's something that's already on the back burner as for now we are concentrating on getting operational and finding funding. If there are paddlers who have experience in that area however, do get in touch. Seas...

Re: Pinkston Paddlesports WW course in Glasgow

Hi Jim, We will be running park and play 'events' until we get a feel for the demand. 2 or 3 sessions a week to start with. The problem is (for us!), unlike other WW centres, we don't currently have a rafting operation to help with pumping costs. It therefore takes quite a few £7.50s to pay for staf...

Re: Pinkston Paddlesports WW course in Glasgow

Good to see some interest on here for Pinkston and it's great to get an idea of paddler's perception of the centre. I'll try to clear up few details as there seems to be some misinformation. I agree its a great facility and they charge in line with opperating costs, I just have concerns that they wi...
