I understand the main paddling is on the Soca just various sections. We normally go to austria but fancy a change thi...

WWSR Oct November

Im based in Northampton and looking for a WWSR course anywhere like Northwales or south wales.

I am having no luck getting onto one as they either are full or dont have enough people.

Im also able to move at the last minute. Any one know of any going that would be great.

Re: Waterproof point and shoot

That was one I was looking at but wondered if anyone had real world experience of them as opposed to reviews that seem to show how good there are at taking photos of books and bright sunshine which we dont get boating in wales in the winter

Re: Are kayaking helmets fit for purpose?

On another point Im looking at a ski helmet. The sweet rambler kids size is identical in EVERY way to the sweet wanderer, apart from the front vent is metal on one and plastic on the other the inside and every other part is identical. The sizes are the same as well with S/M and M/L being the exact s...

Re: Tryweryn Fees

I am not a BCU member and £14 is really steep for an afternoon paddling on a river. I went a few times last year and only paid the car parking as we were getting on the top and going straight down to Bala and not even using the building. Ive heard recently that they were shouting at people from the ...

Re: Insurance for courses

Thanks for all the information, I haven't got round to calling Nottingham yet. He is a full member and wont be paid but the club will charge for the course. As you know first aid courses are needed for coaching but only cover actual first aid. in order to cover the rest you need to bolt other course...

Re: Tryweryn, current situation??

Thanks,

I did believe that was the case but have heard of people being shouted at from the bank for not wearing the bands. I have recently paid parking as its a great carpark and got on with no problems. Just wondered what the current situation was.

Tryweryn, current situation??

Im hearing reports of people being shouted at from the bank for not wearing the band (ie paid to get on the river). Any one had probl...

Morning, Any advice about what might be running or worth a look at towards the end of this month (September) while up in North Wales around the Grade 2+ 3 range. I know there is a chance of no water and bored of the Dee and the Tryweryn a little now. I dont really fancy driving all over the place lo...

Big portage with jump in, Help

I remember a river but can not for the life of me remember where it is as it came up in conversation the other day. Basically you get on on river left to go round a rapid but you have to throw your boat in the river from quite a height and jump in after it. You also often see rafts doing the same. i...
