Re: Drysuit tape - is it worth buying your own?

The Multisport is a cracking bit of kit, I've got the none hinge version and one of the club coaches has the hinged one and swears by it - he's got a couple of them. The one thing he did say was he had to change where he put items in his clothing to reduce internal wear on the drysuit; example he us...

Re: waterproofing

I use PTFE tape, same as plumbers use on sealing pipework; if its good enough for radiators under pressure and heat it's definitely good enough for a kayak. Less than 30 pence from your local screwfix;

Re: Spraydeck repairs

I've successfully used a Lomo neoprene repair tape - it's a little scary using a warm iron on kit but it works. Also, used Black Witch glue and cutoffs from an old wetsuit - there's a really good youtube vid on how to use it.

How long is it from nose to tail?

Also is the seat missing?
They have a moulded seat, the top foam bit is missing.

Re: Gear for Sale & FREE - W Sussex

Hi,

Happy to pay for postage.

Wouldn't mind the plastic air bags and £20 for throw lines - always nice to have spares.

Thanks

Eggy.

Re: Rescue kit

Only other bits to add to a 'rescue kit' would be a knife and whistle, beyond that you are getting into first aid. J Think that's the first mention of a knife with all this rope talk. Most coaches and more experienced paddlers I've spoken to always insist if you're carrying a rope you need to carry...

Re: Outfiiting Tips

Thanks for all the replies. Removing the seat seems a bit much, especially in newer boats. I'm more inclined to pad about the knee and ankle area and will have a bash at the knee or thigh pad/hooks as they do seem rather a good idea. This is also a good resource for outfitting. https://www.immersion...

Outfiiting Tips

Just purchased a new boat and looking at the best ways to outfit and taking some of what I've learnt from my old boat and a few tips along the way. I decided to do some more research and spotted this article: http://nomadickayaking.blogspot.co.uk/2009_10_01_archive.html Has anyone ever done this, re...

Re: New boat advice

Depends what you want to do with it? Are you going to be paddling mainly G2? Do you want to be able to advance more in your surf/river play? Thanks for the reply. managed to get a little playboat; easier to take for pool sessions, really enjoy paddling and messing about in it. So, would use that if...

Just looking at some input as thinking of getting myself to as a new boat for birthday/Christmas and recovery treat. Lomo Neo Deck

Not sure if this is the correct place but here goes. Purchased a new Lomo Neodeck, used it twice; once at a pool session and the other on light grade 2 introductory moving water trip. Came to use it the other weekend and noticed it's damaged: see image. Contacted Lomo - they ignored the email I sent...

Re: I'm brand new to all this..

hi, Welcome to the paddling club :) From my own experience, join a local canoe/kayak club as it can save you a small fortune and more importantly it's the safest option. I started paddling 3 years ago, after a days white water rafting in Bala, joined my local club - Liverpool Canoe Club (LCC) for a ...
