Re: Looking to buy a creek. Possible Swap?

I've got a habitat 80 in good condition that I'd swap for a G-force. Any good? I'm in Aberdeen

Re: Pyrenees dam releases in June

Thanks for the info, it does sound like we'll have decent levels on the Pallaresa Noguera.

Anyone got any info on any other rivers in June?

Pyrenees dam releases in June

Hi folks Does anyone have any info on dam releases in the Pyrenees? We're going to be there for a week (probably around Sort, but don't mind moving about a bit) in early June. I think this usually means the snowmelt is all gone so we're down to dam release and the occasional summer storm. It looks l...

LOST boat on the Twrch (Bala)

Hi folks! Lost a blue Diesel 65 today on the Twrch near bala. Last seen going downstream at a rate of knots, so there's a reasonable chance it's now in Bala lake. It's got an HF throwline and a sling attached to the back from an aborted pin rescue and also got a Yak throwline inside. If anyone spots...

North East paddling buddies 26-31st August

Hi all!
I'm going to be visiting family in Northumberland this week and I'll have a boat and car with me. I've never paddled in the NE except for the Tees so I'd love to get out if anything's running.

I'm happy on grade 3, or 4 with a decent group, so if anyone's keen drop me a message!
Cheers
Aidan

Paddle repair

Hi folks, Just wondering if anyone has any idea of anywhere that might repair a paddle for me? I'd rather not have to ship to Werner in the states! It's a set of Powerhouses and a blade has pretty much just detached from the shaft (ie the shaft seems fine, it'll probably need a new blade.) Any ideas...

WANTED: PADDLES

Hi folks, looking for some paddles to replace my broken powerhouses. Ideally I'd like 194s, around 30 degree feather. The old ones were 197, glass blades on straight shaft, 30 degree feather. I'd be interested in something similar or different. Budget's around £120ish. I'm based in Birmingham but tr...

Thanks-sounds like it could be a good option!

Does anyone know what water levels in Upper Bavaria are likely to be like in mid/late June?

Re: European grade 3 (4) in mid-June

Thanks all-some useful advice there. Bruce, being students we're not going to be able to afford you I'm afraid. but has anyone got any info on levels in the Pyranees in mid June? I've heard the season is earlier but there are dam releases? With regards not being too far from the other destinations, ...

WANTED: Go-pro/Countour/Similar

Hi all! Looking for a cheap camera to make terrible amateur kayaking films. I'm happy to consider a contour/go-pro or whatever else you've got. Rough budget is around £00-150 including some mounts and a waterproof case, but let me know what you've got-if you give me a good deal I promise not to spam...

European grade 3 (4) in mid-June

Looking for a bit of advice on paddling destinations for the summer please :) Our club is staying in L'argentiere then Landeck for a week each late June/early July but there's a group of us wanting to go out a bit earlier and do another week somewhere else beforehand. The criteria we have are: - Gra...

Fixing/Replacing cracked paddle shaft

Hi all, I've got a pair of Robson pogos with a 3" crack in the (carbon) shaft-what's the best way to repair this, or is that even a good idea? I've heard you can get carbon wrap that might do the trick. Alternatively, any suggestions of someone who might be able to replace the shaft altogether? Pref...

I've got a Diesel 65 in similar sounding condition if you'd consider a swap? Definitely a bit more of a river runner!

FOR SALE: PALM River 3m towline £25 ONO

I've not used this since I bought it 2nd hand, and the guy I bought it off said he hadn't either, so it's in pretty immaculate condition. Could be very useful to anyone who paddles regularly with beginners. RRP is £35 so I'm happy to accept £25 plus postage (not more than £3 I imagine) Based in Birm...

Re: Ideas for medical electives with kayaking

Thanks for the replies so far folks. Canada and NZ were thr main ones that sprung to mind, but the cost is a little off-putting I'll agree. Ion-definitely not too exotic-I was involved with doing some malaria research during my undergrad so that could be right up my street. Murray-medically I'm most...

Ideas for medical electives with kayaking

Hi all, I'm a medical student currently planning my elective for next summer. This basically consists of me going to a hospital for 6-8 weeks for some sort of project. I can go anywhere in the world if I can justify it/find a hospital that'll take me. I was hoping to do a bit of paddling while I was...

Hi Graham, a bit further away but if you don't find anything else you'd be more than welcome to come and paddle with the Birmingham Uni Club-we're in Wales most weekends (+a few pool sessions a week but it's a bit far to go for those!)

Hi Ross,

Whereabouts in the country are you? I've got a large G-force for sale-more play than river but it definitely can run the odd rapid or two!
