Re: Prijon Barracuda - first (sea) boat
Hi Mrcharly, I have not paddled the Prijon Barracuda, but other Prijon Boats. Is it the old blowmolded PE boat or the new Barracuda in composite?? They are both with a rudder. The old PE Barracuda is 5,18 meter long and 55 cm wide. It is supposed to be quite tippy, that is little primary stability, ...

Re: North Shore Atlantic RM experiences please?
Hi Rich, I have an Atlantic RM as my day boat. It is a lovely sea kayak. I fit in very well with my 6'4 and long legs and shoe size 10 - 10 1/2! The seat is probably the most comfy I have ever tried in a sea kayak. I tracks very well and is very maneuverbal as well. It is not super fast, but you can...

Cockpit measures North Shore Atlantic
Hello fellow paddlers, I paddle a North Shore Atlantic RM. It is a fantastic boat for me. I have now gotten a good offer on a Atlantic composite!! It is quite a way to drive to pick it up (when this Corona thing has settled down a bit). But I have one question. I can just get my feet into the cockpi...

Perception Essence 17 vs. Wilderness Systems Tempest 170
Hi all, I am the lucky owner of a North Shore Atlantic RM and a Prijon Marlin. I use my Atlantic as my day boat and the Marlin as my tour boat. I am gonna sell the Marlin as I have learned to prefer skeg kayaks to rudder kayaks. I am looking for a skeg boat with a bit more loading capacity than the ...

North Shore Atlantic rm vs Valley Etain 17.7 rm
Hello fellow paddlers, I am the happy owner of a North Shore Atlantic rm. I am happy with the kayak in many ways. It behaves well in most conditions, it tracks well, good to maneuver, it is fairly fast, very comfy and looks good. I am just having a problems getting in and out due to long legs and a ...

Hi everyone! Mike Nelson of North Shore Sea Kayaks retired last years or so. Valley has been producing the North Shore kayaks for some time now. How to pack a skeg kayak
Hello Hello, I just got back from a weekend trip in my Prijon Marlin. It has quite a lot of packing/loading volume. I brought my 3-persons tent, my 210 cm 3-season sleeping bag, thermarest, spare clothes, food (freeze dried) cooking gear, 10 Liters of water in PE-bottles and 2 bottles of wine, plus ...

Re: skeg damage
Hi Everyone, I finally got down to have a look at my skeg. The cable was not kinked and looked OK to me, so I just wiped it off with a cloth sprayed with silicone spray and fitted it on again. It seemed to work OK. I took my Atlantic out for a ride yesterday and the skeg worked without any problems....

Re: HV Plastic sea kayak recommendations please
Hi Dave T,
Sorry, just North Shore Atlantic RM! No HV. With 6'2 you will still fit in, I am 6' 4 and just 7 Kg less than you. But an Etain 17.7 might be roomier and also have more packing volume!!

Re: HV Plastic sea kayak recommendations please
Hi Dave T I would recommend the North Shore Atlantic RM HV!! It is a beautiful PE kayak with good tracking, it is easy to manouver, fairly fast, easy to paddle with a good glide, stable and very comfortable for my 6*4 and 87 Kg. It is much easier to cartop than my previous PE kayaks from Prijon and ...

Hi Mark, I am a Dane living in Germany. Hi Rhysie, No, I think you got confused that I was refering to the Atlantic Composite, which according to North Shores Homepage, has more packing volume the the Atlantic HV RM! Based on my virgin tour I am total happy with my new boat. I did not find it tippy, but I had no waves at all. I will repor...

Hi Paul, Do you mean a Prilite Marlin or an HTP Marlin? The HTP is not produced anymore, but you might still be able to find it by Prijon dealers. I have a Prilite Marlin. Hi Nick, I must admit, that I have been testing my repair work to the max yet! I have just been judging from water coming into the cockpit by more entries. I have not been rolling with the kayak yet. I still need to practice that a lot and I am waiting for the water temperature to rise a bit yet. So...

Re: Welded plastic bulkheads leak - repair?
Hi Nick, I have a Seabird Designs Expedition kayak in PE 3-layers sandwich. Recently my Two rear Bulkheads came loose in the lower part of the hull. I cleaned the areas with acetone, polished a bit with sandpaper and used Sikaflex to seal and fix the bulkheads. It seems to hold so far. An alternativ...

Hi Duncan, Thanks a lot! I am your size, 6'3, though 20 kg lighter. The Polar was sold before I had a chance to go and see it. But my "local" North Shore has special offer on North Shore right now. So it is just the question Atlantic, Atlantic RM or Ocean 17,6? Difficult choices that life gives you!...
