Re: A week in the South West^

The buoys could be the sewage outlet (overflow from storm water, apparently rarely has to be used) pipe that is south of Par beach? I live not far from Meva so am lucky enough to paddle round here most weeks (I even have the choice of half a dozen beaches 15 min or less away to launch from)

Re: Brittany. What boat?

Hi Teddy, 2-17 if that matches up, would be good? Where you staying? Think there was something on here recently about French sea rules? Also in Aug is the Britantty Kayak Festival (sea boat), info on UKRGB. Think I have ruled out sea boat though. Still would be keen if there is any river paddling to...

Carnac sounds good, we are also heading to Quiberon too so will be over that way. The islands in the Morhiban basin are also meant to be worth exploring.

Hi Ali,

Thanks for the reply.

Not a big fan of surf kayaking, although living in Cornwall, minutes from good breaks I do tend to indulge a bit, but would prefer to do river stuff.

Sorry to here your news, whilst not impossible to repair it prob is not worth it. But it may be worth stripping the boat or hatches, footrests, seat, etc if any are worth keeping as spares. Hope no one was hurt

Re: kayaks on scillonian

I would not bother with protection, they are fairly use to loading boats. Be around to supervise and/or help. You cod Put some stuff in hatches but all this makes a boat heavier and so more likely to be damaged, so keep it light. Dont worry about taking to much stuff, take even more! When we last we...

Not sure on the legal position, grey area. I would say tread lightly, small group, arrive later, leave earlier, leave no trace, etc and as long as you choose a suitable beach you will have no trouble.

Although I fit in an Easky ok. I found the plastic chines (ridges) in the way of my heels - they are there to stiffen it. 2 other friends have Delphins, one as his only sea boat, the other has only just got it in addition to his Scorpio for day/play boat. They are very nice boats, good fit, very com...

A fairly big friend of mine (a fair bit bigger than me and i am almost your size) recently got got an Atlantic and is loving it. Makes a Scorpios day pod an expensive option for £400 extra. Quite fancy one myself. Quite a few of the smaller females in our club like Easky 15s

lids that I melted to form welding rods. Closest colour match (green boat), welding rods usually just red/yellow/ etc.

Re: Hanging kit to dry / over bath

My solution - various hooks, screws, etc on side of (big) garage wall that faces south west (sun drying), this is 4m from top of drive (ie near car), next to garage side door (easy acces) and most importantly next to hose. Hang up all kit on hangers on hooks, hose down over trug they were in ( this ...

Hi Mark,

Some of the pics I emailed you were on the Barle, some on the Dart Loop. I may have some pics of the Fowey whitewater, as well as pics from/of sea boats or canadians in the Fowey and Fal creeks/estuary.
