Re: Inconsistent assessments at LVWWC - money making exercis

I suppose I was suggesting that there are ways of *making sure* (within reason) you pass the assessment, regardless of the assessor - and the best way is to get familiar with the Legacy beforehand by spending several hours on it on a course where you have free use of it. Now I can see that the cost...

Re: Splitting 2* CW facebook

Some star award numerical data from CW re numbers taking 2 star pre and post change. Although it could be a bit more specific, it does appear quite stark. And, OMG, 11 years since it changed! Where did the time go?? Just going through all of our records (well Val is) and pulling out some very intere...

Re: Splitting 2* CW facebook

Is there a lot of canoeing involved in the 2*? I didn't have to do much to get through it, most of my 2* was kayaking. I've got the impression the canoeing side of it was so give you a 'taster' and appreciation for it. . Seen that done in a few places, similarly seen "that will do" applied to paddl...

The message below is on canoe wales facebook page. It is great that CW have posted, but quite worrying re the overall impression the governing body appears to have towards its members From Facebook We need your opinion urgently!! Re: Valley Etain 17.5 or P&H Cetus MV

Jumped back into my beloved Romany Surf after we had lunch and took that into some pretty big seas and I haveto be honest I was really glad I was back in it because I was enjoying myself a lot more than my friend in his Cetus. I know it's unfair to compare both boats as they are meant for different...

We are a little bit different. Just had a reply from Antoinette Sandbach our regional AM in North Wales, and shadow minister of the enviroment. The question really is why spend so much money when there was already easy access and lots of parking?

Surely agreeing to dates when launching from one side, and having unfettered access from the other side, is just going to cause arguments.

Seeing as this was one of the highest profile slots the access issue has received in years*, where were our Olympic medallists? I give up.

The incompetence in CE/BCU and their lack or co-ordinated message is beyond belief.

But as long as their competitive members can have a race then that is ok then.

If it is a yes and Scotland is not in the EU, who decides who is Scottish and who is rest of uk national? Might sound daft, but it will need to be known for working out who can / cannnot work in each country, claim benefits etc etc. Vital if the economies diverge or vastly differing rates of tax. If...

Nice that this issue has received media coverage.

I just wish the bcu statement had been a bit more robust and bring it on!

Similarly re the itv news article, surely there was an olympic athlete or hard done child that could have been called upon.

The old ken witting videos explained it (spin momentum and carve) really well. But, whilst grabbing a quick break in work, my recolection was that to carve required an element of grabing the water - be that with the edge of boat, rail, paddle in a gliding draw style movement etc etc etc. But lets ju...
