Isles of Scilly / Scillonian tickets + extras

Due to the personal reasons we are not able to visit IoS this year, therefore we would like to sell the tickets.

Two adult tickets 15-22 of August
Two kayaks
Two nights on St Mary (camping (paid)
5 nights on Bryher (deposit paid only)

200 + rebooking fee (~40).

Re: First Kayak -any suggestion

Perception Essence 17?

Beautiful, extremely stable, ample room in the hatches.

Maybe a bit soft, when fully loaded for an expedition, but you will notice that only on a big wave's crest.

Find a kayak club or a shop near you and ask members/sellers for a short trials.

While driving a car, I switch on my headlights whenever I ask myself a question: 'is it the time to switch the lights?'

I would apply the same rule to the helmet.

Scillonian III ferry

From your experience: what are the chances that IoS ferry will be cancelled on the 9th of May? Windfinder for Scillies shows a quite windy conditions (well, at least for the sea kayakers!) Google search dosent show anything... apart from the information that ferry has been cancelled exactly two year...

Black Rock Sands beach. Even on a very windy day (southerly), the best place to be for surfing practise, rolls in rougher water, etc.

GBP 4 for entry, you can drive and park right on the beach

Re: Scilly Isles Solo?

Locals have a very interesting system of delivering your gear to.. the campsites. Basically, you put your destination (Island/campsite) on the label, and your gear is going there by some magic. I think you will have a problem with drinking water supplies during wild camping.. Tides might be weak the...

Anglesey. Im looking for a guide.

I'm looking for a guide (or a companion) for Porth Dafarch - Soldiers Point (trip nr 8 from a famous WSK book). I'm very flexible with the date, basically any day between 12.07 and 22.07 suits me. I've got all necessary equipment, and I am on 3 star level, but without guts to ... pull my kayak on tr...

Re: What GPS do people use?

Not a dedicated device, but very reliable:

Nokia N97 with Sports-tracker (http://www.sports-tracker.com/). Version for Symbian s6 was the best.

Garmin Montana was also interesting, but I've been using it for a very short time.

By international agreement, if your vehicle is legal in your home country, then it remains legal while visiting another country.

Ditto! Nice place with access to dehumidifier and washing facilities. ASDA is 3 minutes away.
Only bad bit was the last 100 metres of the road that still remembers WWII bombing.

Re: Yacht towing Sea Kayaks

We've had a small problem with finding a suitable place to leave the trailer - eventually we towed it (using muscle power) to: http://goo.gl/maps/NCeqx (there was a small fee, but I do not remember how much)

Honestly - as a main base consider Bryher. St Mary camping was somewhat creepy
