Re: White Water in Jordan
Thank you for your answers guys. I have a couple of friends moving to Jordan next month. They don't paddle but it's always good to know if you can expand on a trip.

White Water in Jordan
This is a musing post. Does anyone know if there's any white water paddling to be had in Jordan?
Yes I'm aware it's hot and sandy but you never know.

Re: Stopping overnight in France
I've used the F1 Hotels before in France and will be doing so again. Very cheap and cheerful.
Last time we hired a small room 2 in the double, 1 in the bunkbed and 1 on the floor. Or you can splash out and get more rooms.
Rooms start at about 30 quid.

Re: Dry trousers
I have a pair of Reed Chillcheater dry trousers and they are very good and cheap. Mine are around 3 years old now and still in good nick, they have even been used skiing. I went for pee zip and velco ankle cuffs, although you can choose what suits you. I really like the high waist as it creates a gr...

Hi Rizzrat Two other things to think about. Make sure you've had a good meal and some breakfast before boating. Also warm hands make for happy paddlers, some pogies to wear when you feel like it are great. I have some Peak ones that work great. Other than that, keep moving, in this weather a couple ...

The budget option is to wear some neoprene shorts or thermal top under your dry kit combo to keep you warm if also wet.

Re: California Guide book ? which one ?
Hi Mike Good choice you will have an amazing time. When I went out in 2011 I was also searching for as much information as possible. The River Gypsies book has some of the popular California runs and nice pretty pictures. It's a bit coffee table and really expensive in the UK so you could pick up a ...

Also if you're looking for some sun, scenery and boating Bovec in Slovenia offers a couple of lovely grade 2/3 sections on the Soca. This would only really cover a 2 or 3 days of boating but the area is stunning and good for walking and biking. Whatever you do, do a WWS & R course, keep boating, sta...

A full leg wetsuit will keep you warm dry or wet and is significantly cheaper. Should be able to find a nice 80's neon one on ebay. I was able to use club boats and paddles whilst starting out. If you join a club and talk to the long time members you'll find most boaters have a store of good old kit...

Re: Cags for people with Latex Allergies?
I use Reed kit. The fit, customer service and price are all great. Also it's completely latex free, I've found some kayaking materials still irritate despite not appearing to contain latex. I find the kit very hard wearing, in comparision to Nookie and Yak (although been using Reed for years now, so...

In California finishing a section of the American and being given a beer by some rafters who were shocked we had no "Take out beers". In the French alps being wished to have a "Good sport time" by some EDF employees. Finishing a run in South Wales to get off and find a chippy van had set up in the s...

Alex,
A cheap tarp will keep it out of sight which will help a lot.
Or you know you can put it back in the club shed but I'm guessing you don't want to do that for some reason.

I've been using The Little houses in Roybridge at least once a year for the last 6 years and they're great. Chalets to fit 2 - 8 and a good drying room.
http://www.thelittlehouses.co.uk/village.htm
Also two pubs at the end of the road (one with free internet) and central to most west coast rivers.

Hi Si Check your weight allowance, when we flew to the states with Virgin last year it was 23 kg. When you check in, get there in good time and make it easy for them. Tell them you weighed the boats and they're all under the limit, put a rope from each grab loop down the middle of the boat through t...
