Cutting dry suit seals

Hi

What is the thinking about cutting neck and ankle seals so there not tight enough to actually cut of the circulation. I can understand about keeping everything straight and using sharp knifes etc but is there any particular sizes etc ?

Thanks , Adam

Re: Advice on big boy boats?

Hi

I'm about the same size and weight as you and the boat I use is a large karnali. Not sure what level I'm classed at as most of what I do is on flat water with a few river trips but I definitely don't feel like it's submarining except when launching.

Re: Wavesport D65 outfitting

Hi I can't say for sure as I havn't worked on a wavesport but , most backbands work basically the same. If you look at the first page( put http in front) I know it's not a wavesport but it does show how it should be with the ratchets bolted to the thigh pads and the straps running backwards round th...

Re: Dagger Approach Skeg repair & Airbag advice

Hi sorry been away What I meant was that the 10's are club spec without the bulkhead , these have 2 air bag's a piece in them , and the 9 is higher spec and has a bulkhead and doesn't need airbag's. I think ( without going and looking ) the bag's used are a generic large size , don't know the make. ...

Hi I got a brand new pair of custom ophion paddles for my birthday last year , didn't even think about damaging them. First trip out within a week of getting them to symonds yat , ended up swimming , got an impressive scratch down the back of the blade which shows up white when they're dry and a chi...

Re: Dagger Approach Skeg repair & Airbag advice

Hi We have a couple of approaches at our club that I've had to look at the skeg's on. The 'peg' that the skeg sit's on is just a bit of tubing ( they were different lengths on all of our boats ) and they all rattle. When you look at where the skeg sits there is like a 'V' shaped piece moulded into t...

if you can't manage that are you sure you want to be a coach / should be canoeing. If your are registered disabled, that is enough for a serious complaint. I am sure that quite a few 'coaches' have no idea what it is like to have a disability. Yes , registered and the trainers were told when I firs...

Hiya I had a similar thing happen to me when I was doing my level1 coach. I'd managed to get through everything else during the 2 weekends including the canoeing side of things , even though canoeing isn't my strong point and given the choice will always go for a kayak every time. When it came to do...

Hi By braceing I take it you mean support strokes ? As you've got someone teaching you in a pool can't they go through the basic's at the same time. We regularly do some braceing strokes before going on to capsize drill , t-rescue , rolling. One way we did find useful was to have someone on the side...

I've just replaced mine with a set of ophinion 197 in glass and find them really comfortable now I've got used to them , my last one's were a set of cheap 205/210 splits that I now find feel so long they're akward to use. I'm 6ft 2" and did try several sets out at our club before I paid out.

I generally use a contact adhiesive when I've fitted foam in the past. Evostick's impact has worked well for me and I'm sure most kayak shops sell decent brands.

Hi Don't know if this will help but - On my karnali I've still got the original footplate but , I pushed it right forward and filled the area with a couple of bit's of foam . I used about 4" micro/closed cell foam against the footplate as it's more solid then about 2 - 3" of soft foam on top of it f...
