For Sale WWR

I'm selling my Mission. Given that it hasn't been used for many years it seems time for it to go to a new home. It is made by Caiman, and has the usual scrapes and repairs to the gel coat, but no damage has gone through to the fabric. I'm ideally looking for £550 for it, but am open to any reasonabl...

Re: Access Rights

From what I can see (agree or disagree with WDP) What they are doing is completely in line with the recommendations from the Welsh Assembly Items not met in my understanding: 94.Many people pointed to access agreements as the way forward. We were, however, concerned that, in the type of access agre...

Re: Paddle-grip carabiner

OK let's see how much I was concentrating on the course.... It's not that pulleys are bad, it's just that the small ones don't actually reduce friction significantly more than a carabiner. Although your rope may wear less, the friction on the bearings inside the pulley reduces the pull in the syste...

I've always used some epoxy resin, most recently the easiest to get hold off seems to be the west systems 105/205 set. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/West-System-105-1KG-Epoxy-Fibreglass-Hardener-Pack-For-Boat-repair-etc/151319273225?_trksid=p0.c100204.m3164&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3...

Re: The case for air bags...

How about taking a lesson from the past...

Use a bin bag, and expanding foam to create a mould. Then use that mould to make a 2 part fibreglass shell, remove the foam, and seem the fibreglass halves together.
There you have a nice solid air-bag moulded to the shape you need...

I find it hard to believe it will inflate in all situations where you need it too and not inflate by accident when you don't want it to surely no harder to believe that the car airbag? I've got my girlfriend's project 52 for sale. It hasn't been used very much as neither of us are really that into play-boating, also hence the reason for sale. Looking for £350. https://scontent-a-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/t1/q74/s720x720/1620867_10152002220221247_331373262_n.jpg https://fbcdn-s...

indeed I agree it could be that they are a complete flop, dependent on how they are managed.

But then if I'm not happy with the service then I'd start just paying for parking and not for the shuttle.

A cynic would question whether they'd planed it all, and the reaction people would give and the ease to slip back to the old charging system, and the hope that people would accept it as better, and then stop moaning. Also good luck to them finding out which cars have and haven't paid for parking thi...

Re: Open letter to CW

To be fair they have said something about periodic paddler shuttles. And that does include the showers. Now if they had made a statement something along the lines of the following then I'd be far more tempted back. "There have been many questions and feedback about the new facilities charge. We can ...

Re: Open letter to CW

Looks to me like they've taken note of all the people saying that they'd pay for car parking, and not for the centre use. And thus they've made it all in one, so that they can claim you are using the facilities by parking, and thus have a case if you choose not to pay. Also the change that they have...

If one pays the parking charge, and doesn't use any building facilities, then would one be justified in not feeling the need to pay the facilities charge?

(Note that according to a post on the facebook page they are keeping the parking charge as well)

I suspect those really keen to play polo may phone up/email.
But I don't think you'd get any speculative new people, who haven't really done much polo before emailing/phoning.

Although if you are trying to select the more experienced, then I think it probably does the job nicely.

Re: Secret Society Canoe Clubs

Clubs to be fair aren't really necessary nowadays if all you want is to meet people to paddle with and have your own gear. Plenty of open facebook groups that you can meet/ask if anyone want a paddle on a given time and date. It can feel a bit like you are placing a lonely heart add the first time ...
