Re: Advice on second hand Kayak please

May be worth looking at the point 65 range of sit ons, these are sectional can be taken apart, so if you have the 2 seater, you can leave one section out to make it a solo kayak.

Re: Why don’t manufacturers update their websites ?

I wouldn’t expect them to have permanent IT staff, but would expect than when introducing a new product that they would try and market it, with the internet being the most obvious way with the widest audience. I did have a reply from P&H regarding the Virgo, they are still finalising certain details...

Re: Why don’t manufacturers update their websites ?

I am not on Facebook either and never will be, i understand 99.9% of people are but you would think a company trying to sell products and make money in 2019 would update their websites, can’t be that hard ? Or maybe it is....

Why don’t manufacturers update their websites ?

Looking at getting some info on new designs such as the new Northshore evolution range, Rockpool bach and the P&H virgo/glassversion of virgo, we know they are out there so why don’t the manufacturers have up to date info on their new models ? Seems odd that they would not be promoting these models ...

Re: Pembrokeshire family kayaking?

Solva harbour at full tide is quite a big area, turn right at the end and you will find an impressive arch, turn left and theres a cave you can go right through but be careful if theres any swell, don’t be tempted to go out to Green scar island as its always windy coming back, even if there was no w...

Thanks for that, the Virgo, found this pic, based on the Scorpio, only shorter, just over 15 ft, seems the foredeck hatch is an optional extra

Re: Sea Kayaking Clubs in South Wales?

It is, perfect for pottering around the coast, surfing and easier rivers, though have seem a video of one being used in grade 4, if you have Instagram look at liquidfusion, they use them for fairly extreme rock hopping. I had a mate try mine who had used SOT kayaks and he loved it. You can try mine,...

Re: Sea Kayaking Clubs in South Wales?

I think the FB lot just divided into small groups who just do their own thing, when i was paddling with them it seemed to be going a bit “hardcore” for my tastes, I tried organising a few more relaxed trips but most people seemed to want epic trips, or big distance, so i gave up with them and paddle...

Re: Sea Kayaking Clubs in South Wales?

There is sea kayak Cymru on facebook, they organise trips, I would also suggest getting in touch with Escape watersports or Up and under, they both have demo sea kayaks to try. Coming from a Tarpon maybe try something like the Dagger Stratos, not a full on sea kayak but a great design that will do m...

Re: Romany Classic and Atlantic lv, the same but different?

The Atlantic LV started life as the Shoreline, quite a long time ago, it had just two small round hatches, newer versions played with large fibreglass hatches (shoreline fuego) and has now settled on its current deck layout, in my experience the Romany felt very different, unfortunately they seemed ...

Point65 Whisky 16

After years of trying to get hold of this kayak, the importers will finally be bringing this kayak to the UK from march 2019, its a play the sea type kayak designed by Nigel Foster, supposedly super agile, the rocker version is similar to the composite model which isn’t currently beiing produced and...

Re: An interesting Ebay Kayak.

Obsolete? No, some of the “older” designs are considered classics with good reason, I think Valley have gone back to the original hull on their latest Nordkapp, after years of dicking about with it, and its good to see something other than Valley and P&h on the water !

Re: Islander Bolero 14 or Perception Carolina 14

I had the Chareston 14, i liked it a lot and still recommend it to people who want a cheap touring kayak, i did some good trips in mine, like around Ramsey island, its very stable and forgiving, the 15 has a bigger cockpit that would suit larger paddlers, skeg is a bit rubbish though as sits right a...

Thanks for the reviews, I was thinking of changing my Stratos for one of these, the thing I like about the Stratos is its agility, so maybe I would be disappointed with the Hydra, will still try and demo one though.
