Re: Eurokayaks axis or enigma

Honestly, it's fun to paddle but it's not a great boat. It's extremely uncomfortable and there's no central foam strengthener, so if you ever got it breached it could fold and trap your legs inside. You may have more comfortable fun in and more sucess finding a proper glass fibre squirt boat. Almos...

Re: Peak UK Big Deck

I've seen similar things with a few freestylers cagdecks. It does seem like there is a recent batch of decks that wears unreasonably fast.

Re: Peak UK ends partnership with British Canoeing.

I doubt that BC is hurt by Peak's decision. If anything, they pushed them into it. In a year's time, the kayaking community will have forgotten its outrage and we'll all be buying Adidas cags. I don't think that they will, but some athletes might be wearing Adidas, probably made by Sandiline, as th...

Good on Peak, BC only really cares about money and medals, and it's about time that their attitude came home to them.

Re: Leaking paddle!

If you leave the paddle somewhere warm for some time then the water should evaporate out, it may take a while but once you have you can seal up the joins with some epoxy. Thanks Joseph. I might try that... though I wonder if it's worth it, since it would only be a matter of time till a new hole app...

Good call, if you don't already have resin and glass, you'd probably have spent something halfway close to that on materials for a repair.

The Pyranha Backband has always been pretty poor, it was 15 years ago in the S6, and hasn't gotten much better since.

Indeed, what I'd do for a lovely 6" playboat, with hard rails. I love my guigui, but it is a shame that it doesn't handle like I'd want on a wave.

Re: Objects of desire

I'm going to add the Gigue-Prod 2008 Easymix to this list, it just looks good!

I had one for a while, but it was built up about 1cm, and that was just too much volume in the front for me, but how I long for a modern adaptation. 6' long, hard rails and progressive rocker!

Re: Bent Shaft Blades

From my understanding the distance from the Crank to the Blade is the same no mater what length of paddle you get, the adjustment in the length of the paddles is made at the join in the middle. I always found this quite a shame, I'd love some cranked Werner creaking blades, but the cranks are far t...

A lack of new designs, the Atro and magnum are from the Mid 2000's, I think their touring designs are newer, but not by much.

The stretch of river Trent below Staythorpe weir to Newark Dyke in NON NAVIGABLE.
How is it possible to paddle over something that is non-navigable? by navigating it, it is definitively proven to be navigable.

Re: Riot Boogie 54 - Existance

Regarding the issues with Riots memory, it's probably due to them now being a routing/sea kayak company; that seem to have forgotten their whitewater roots since Corran and Steve Fisher left. Perhaps with the exception of still churning out new riot magnums.

I don't think PTFE would work very well, it's designed for sealing on the threads, rather than giving a face-seal like we get with washers on a kayak

It appears kayaks imported from the USA into the EU are subject to a new 25% tariff, as part of the on going tit for tat trade war. Those Dagger boats made in the UK are not affected by this unwelcome development. To my understanding possible solutions being consider are the borrowing of the mouldi...
