Anyone tried Kari-tek easy load roof bars or Thule slidebars?

Has anyone tried Kari-tek easy load, or Thule slidebars?

I have just got a higher car and loading 4 WW kayaks doesn't look as easy as it used to be!

Re: Proposed Canoe Trial - Flamborough Head, Yorkshire - Your Thoughts Please

This is an absolute classic route, and the sea birds are part of the attraction. They certainly are not disturbed by our presence, diving and playing right amongst the kayaks. The caves are beautiful and while bats are present in one of them, bats are also present in plenty of railway tunnels. They ...

Re: Lower Prysor

Walked this from top of Rhaeadr Ddu to the end 16 March in very low water. There are screwed anchors part way down the entry slide and a convenient tree above the lip of the main waterfall to anchor for the main abseil. There are severe tree hazards along much of the river with quite a few river wid...

PS - the guidebook is quite vague about the location of the grade 5; get out at the farmer's bridge half way down the first section and you can inspect most easily from the left bank.

Re: River Gloy

Our group paddled this today. The river looked bony from the narrow stone bridge just of the A82 (half way point of the trip described here), but actually provided a fast and challenging G3/4 trip, especially for the leader. A fair amount of wood in the river, we removed a river wide strainer (tree)...

Good shout. I try to avoid amazon and eBay as they dodge their fair share of tax, but sometimes there is no easy alternative.

At least the charity may get a little bit!

FS: thule roofbars and uprights for cars with roof rails

Thule roofbars, partly padded for kayaks, footpack 754, folding uprights About 18 months old, they were used on a renault laguna (2002 model) but fit many cars with roofbars. Unfortunately my new car doesn't, hence the sale! £65, based in the North East. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/10/03/u9uga3e4.j...

Swam it (and climbed behind and up the weir) yesterday. It was lower than I've ever seen it, May be the hydro is having an impact. No tow back along most of the weir, and the ladder very friendly with the top surf wave easy to catch and leave. Didn't find much to worry about swimming it from the sec...

Lovely run on a summer's day. No big features but you can still create a few practice moves between the eddies and "killer rock" in the slalom course with imagination. Lots and lots of fisherman but they were quite used to kayakers and with a couple of exceptions very friendly. A bit of care to pass...
