Re: England's Best Grade 3 river?

The lesser-known Tees Greta is also a cracking trip, but more like 3/4- and at 11km, it's a good long trip!

Re: Hey 9R paddlers...

It's so fast compared to my Recon I missed eddies either hitting too soon or missing them! Get aggressive with the edge and it turns surprisingly quickly for a 9 footer!

Re: Afon Tywi - Junction Pool to Dolauhirion

Paddled on 16/02/16, 0.6 (low). Got on at Rhandirmwyn bridge and got out at Dolauhirion bridge. Ducked under a large tree in one of the earlier gorges, could be a hazard at higher levels, look well ahead. Also a tree choke in one of the last gorge sections with two trees and some debris. Can sneak r...

Re: RIVER LOWTHER

Paddled this today 30/1/15 at 1.1 on the gauge (low). Surprisingly good cruise but technical to avoid rocks in low water. Lots of overhanging trees in places needing to be navigated around but no major blockages. There is a thick wire/cable and tree in the river near the get-on just around the first...

My thoughts are with family and friends. At the Garry Boater X I met many paddlers from the Aberdeen area and I was overwhelmed by their passion and dedication to the sport. Also thinking of this wonderful community at this sad time.

Large tree river wide just above Pillar Falls. Might be able to duck under right hand side at lower levels but will cause problems on the lead-in in higher levels.

A cracking trip with a gem of a gorge! Parked in the carpark a few hundred meters after the Allt na Ceillich (might go with water) and got out before the bridge in Comrie - 12km in total. Allt na Reinich

After heavy rainfall, managed to catch the Allt na Reinich on New Year's Day after deciding the Roy was far too high. A pure ditch-bash but some cool features including a slide, a curling drop and a tricky boil to finish. 350m in length, around 30m descent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sK8ZJ2Ild8...

Lost my ditch paddle at the confluence of the Allt na Reinich and the Roy above the get-in for the upper
Levels are huge so expect it to go very far or get stuck in trees.

It's a green-bladed Palm Maverick G5. Contact details on blades. Many thanks, happy paddling!!!

Re: RIVER SPRINT (Near S Bends to River Kent Confluence)

Ran the Sprint on 0.65 (medium) on 18/10/14. Excellent levels with no major tree blockages from Cocks Close downwards. The 'warm-up' from the Public Toilets was a horrible tree-infested ditch, loads of pin potential and wouldn't recommend it at any level. Have a look and get in further down towards ...

Re: River Runner vs Creek Boat (Wsport Diesel vs Wsport Reco

I've owned both a Diesel 65 and a Recon 70. The Diesel was an excellent boat for progressing from grades 2/3 to 4. It has nice edges to practice those break-ins whilst also having enough volume and speed to get through bigger stuff. I paddled class 4+ in a Diesel with no problems. A very stable boat...
