Re: paddling partner for 13 yr old
http://www.youthfreestyle.co.uk/ To make life easier you have to get him in a club, many clubs cater for disabled so you can paddle with him, if he wants to get into playboating then the YFS are extremely good with kids, but 1st he will need to learn some skills which you will have to let him go and...

Re: Varun + footwear
I've just got hold of a Pyranha Varun and trying to work out what to wear in the boat. Are people paddling river/play boats bare foot (or neoperene socks) like playboats or carving out the foam to wear river shoes? Thanks My lads got a varun and size 10's, he wears wetsuit socks with crocs stored b...

If your anywhere near Torquay my lad might be up for the Upper, hes going to struggle getting there though as I'm on a course all weekend, hes done the Upper at bottom step so capable enough, he too may be bombing out the canoe show.

Have large Palm Torrent suit in blue. Needs new neck seal (£36 from Rubberman). No rips or tears but leaks slightly due to delamination, Palm may be able to advise if neck seal replaced. Only £100 cash. Have new suit so will not bother to repair myself. Will be at New Bridge at Dart Sat & Sun this ...

Re: Erme this weekend? (or similar)
The Erme needs a bit of water, 0.65 minumum on the guage apparently to get a clean run, there are tree hazards as well before he slot drop reported. I think the forecast is for dry weather so you might be lucky to get on it? I have only done this river once but will be planning to paddle it a few ti...

Re: On the move River Dart Facebook Group
this is getting so monotonous . I disagree with that part Mark, there are points worth discussing. Also there was a consensus to monitor the situation on the river this summer, now would be appropriate to highlight and discuss any issues that may have occurred, obs on a new thread. Hardys right..gi...

Re: On the move River Dart Facebook Group
Yes, and all have been free and welcome to give their opinion on that, and to challenge obvious nonsense (e.g. imaginary rules and agreements). Not on Mark and Simon's group, previously. Ask Morsey. I'd say thats a good thing we dont see topics like that on it, thats what this site is for. The Dart...

Re: Dagger Mamba 8.1 (2012) advice
Dont forget your safety gear, drysuit, helmet etc etc. 10kg I'd guess at, I'm 70 kg and found the 8.1 a bit big but wasnt going to push it in a smaller 7.6 so opted for an 8.1 Nomad. My lads about 65-68kg and has an 8.1 Mamba, hes 6ft though so cant fit in my small Nomad, he has no bother being a li...

Re: Stolen Kayaks in North Wales
Scratch your name and details into the top of the boat, it might be a deterrant. GPS chips melted into the hull are needed at manufacture, once this is done by all manufacturers nobody will ever nick a boat again. They can be clearly displayed on the top of a boat so if they are cut out its pretty o...

Re: Mamba vs Burn
Depending on your size its well worth checking out the Nomad as well, I had a med Burn but lost weight through paddling and needed a smaller boat, The Mamba 8.1 was too big but the 7.6 too small, I tested both the small Burn and 8.1 Nomad. I opted for the Nomad and after about 10 trips I can honestl...

Great find Ollie. I just wish that when people uploaded their videos to Vimeo etc that they would add keywords to them in the "tags" box so that it is possible to find the videos in searches. I miss a lot of videos because people do not do this since they do not appear in Vimeo search results for b...

Are you looking for an 8.1 Rowan? my mate Nige has one for sale and he lives close to Cardiff WW centre, I was considering buying it before I decided on biting the bullet and getting a new one.

There is a club trip on the 23rd Sept for members on the river Avon estuary. should be attended by 30 plus pad...
