Re: Dart Levels - Now with added Twitter!

We paddled today, but we reckoned it was lower than that. We got on at 9:30am, and 3 of us thought it was 6" below slab. Will it have risen slightly whilst we were paddling? It was low.

Hi there.

No, it's still for sale. I just didn't get around to putting any pictures up. If you are interested, please PM me a sensible offer and whether you'd collect or need me to courier it. Courier will cost the price it costs me, £40.

Re: WANTED!! Golf MkV Roof Bars.

The genuine MKV roof bars that I had for our old car, are the same ones that fit the new MKVI golf that we now have. Theory is that you could purchase a set new from a VW dealer for the MKVI, which they will have as current stock.

I think I paid £145 for them.

Mark.

Re: RIVER EXE (Bolham Weir to Bickleigh)

Regards access rights, we just paddle where and when we want AS LONG AS CONDITIONS ALLOW (i.e. don't damage anything by paddling at low water levels. The section of river is extremely low at the moment, and I would advise strongly against paddling in a kayak or a raft. Not only will you be scraping ...

Re: RIVER PIDDLE (Cuckoo Pound to Wareham)

Hey, whether you're over/under 18 or no matter how good an individual may think they are at kayaking, wearing a BA is just a sensible precaution. You can't account for hitting your head, coming out your boat then floating down river etc etc. Just wear one everytime you paddle, simple!

Re: RIVER PIDDLE (Cuckoo Pound to Wareham)

Paddled this today, group of 4 of us. We arrived at the put in already change, got on quickly and quietly, and weren't challenged. We did see a family out walking a short while after turning left, as indicated in the guide. We first thought that it was just a family out walking, but the older couple...

Re: Tavy & Teign Access

Tavy definately gets paddled on a regular basis. There are 2 main sections that I'm used to paddling - the "Middle Tavy", what I refer to as the bit from Hill Bridge down to Peter Tavy. And the "Lower Tavy", from Tavistock town centre down to Denham bridge. The Middle Tavy bit never had any access i...

Try one on before you buy. I must have a large head, because I wear a medium in everything and had to go to xl before I could get it over my head. There was no change the medium was going on without breaking it at AS in exeter. Got a Palm Switch in the end, slightly more expensive £150. I wanted to ...

Yep, paddled the upper dart a few times, and loop lots of times. Want to paddle few other things this season first, like middle tavy, walkham, lower tavy, west dart.

Heading out again this weekend possibly, but lower grade. Possibly Barle.

Re: anyone in somerset fancy hooking up?

Hi

I'm looking to paddle the River Exe from Bolham Weir to Bickleigh. I'm comfortable paddling on grade 3/4, but our group tomorrow will be me plus two river newbies. They are both 2 star standard, and can roll. Looking for another person who can lend a hand if required.

Thanks

Hi

Countryfile tonight on BBC1 promises to contain some kayaking, not sure how much or what exactly but perhaps worth a watch?

I've never been to the pool, campsite, but managed to find it on Google within about 2 minutes. Link below: http://www.nexuscommunity.org/my-nearest-site/south-oxfordshire/river...

Re: bit of a techy Q, IP webcams for rivercam

Personally, have used and think that the Axis Communications range of IP cameras are very good. With regards to mounting, most of them support PoE (Power over Ethernet) allowing you to run just a single Cat5e cable to the cable, and provide the power from the dry, clean, indoor environment. Small Ne...

Re: VW golf roof rack question

Hi I have these same bars. You use the little alan key to remove the plastic inserts - they just plug the hole when the roof bars are not attached to the car. Like previous poster mentions, you have to loosen the bars with the wrench tool quite a bit for them to be able to clear the door frame and t...

This is the one I was thinking of so WOW, massive change. Any guesses as to whether this will was out the first little drop after the weir, or whether it will cause the level in the first mile to rise of fall from its usual?

Wow! That looks very different. Is this the bit that I would refer to as the "middle tavy"? Hill bridge had a broken weir, and we normally put on just below it where the road meets the river, then an inital drop?

How is in going to change the river??
