Re: Chile or Costa Rica

Thanks Mike. Probably 2 weeks in total. When you say 1 week in Costa Rica is that because there aren't that many rivers? Chile could you cherry pick and spend say a week and half there or is it a reasonable amount of travelling to/between rivers? Do you know any good websites etc to use for research...

I am looking at a ww trip to one of these countries.

Probably January because of work. Has anyone know if that will be a good time to go?

Also can anyone recommend any good companies to go with?

Cheers

Dagger Nomad deck advice

Hi All, I have just changed my Mamba 8.1 to a Nomad 8.6 and my Playboater work deck which has been fine with the Mamba seems to leak quite a lot. Any companies who will make a Werner Sherpa glass cranked into splits?

Hi,

Does anyone know of a company who will make a glass cranked Werner sherpa paddle into two part splits?

I don't feel like attempting it myself!

Thanks

I had the old gradient boots and now the new ones. They are great but will not fit in a play boat and are slightly larger than the old model- width mainly.

Re: Met Parachute helmet

I wouldn't wear one.

MTB helmets are designed for one impact whilst ww helmets are designed for multiple impacts i.e bouncing down a river upside down.

Looking to head out to Nepal later in the year. One option is Pureland Expeditions which I have heard great things about). However I would like to go in September and al there trips are October.

Two questions:

Would it be worth going then?
Any other companies I should consider?

Burn mk1 to Mamba 2013

I have swapped boats from a mk1 Burn to a new Mamba 2013 and although I love the new boat I am finding the transition a little odd.

Any advice on how I should change my paddling style going from hard rails to more of a displacement hull style boat?

All help appreciated.

Cheers

It is 18 years old. Do I need to say anything more? It is 17 years out if warranty. Do you really think that should be covered by warranty or even worth asking?

Best of luck finding it and I will keep an eye out for it.

Do you hang kit up inside out in sunlight?

No seam tape, irrelevant of manufacturer will last long if exposed to sunlight. I learnt this after ruining a cag :(

Re: White water insurance

With Snowcard the single article limit is fixed at £500 (or was May 2012) so even if you insure £3k of equipment a boat will only be covered for £500 minus excess (not hundred 100% about excess). Found this out after I lost a boat and paddle. Luckily I got the boat back

Not my experience: I borrowed a set of new club splits for my 4* (Midland CC) which had never been used.
