Stolen Kayaks- Ballachulish
Sometime on Friday night or Saturday morning we had three boats stolen from our base in Ballachulish. The boats are a: P&H Capella 160 sea kayak in Blue (fairly rare) Venture Capella 166 sea kayak in Yellow (we'd only had this a week, it had been used once and was virtually brand new) FeelFree Coron...

Re: Karitek Easy Load- Roof Rails or bolt on to roof bars?
Thanks uxb, that's helpful. There is just less than a cockpit's width between the current bars, which I don't think is wide enough.
How much clearance is there between the racks and the van? I'm worried that the ends of canoes may touch the van when in the Karitek brackets upside down.
Cheers
Mark

Karitek Easy Load- Roof Rails or bolt on to roof bars?
I'm looking to buy a Karitek Easy Load system for my Reanult LWB Vivaro van. It looks like I have the option of either bolting it on to the existing roof bars or removing the roof bars and replacing them with Karitek roofrails which the system then attaches to. Does anyone have any experience of the...

Re: tow line
Is it daft to attach one to the strap round the middle of my white water boyancie aid. Hi Ewan You do see people with tow lines set up like that, however the strap around the middle of your White Water BA is likely to be a rescue harness which is designed for a very specific purpose and was never i...

VHF for Sea Kayakers
The latest article on our Blog looks at VHF Radio from a Sea Kayakers perspective. I'm sure the majority of the content won't be new to the regular contributors here but I hope it might be of interest to those who are newer to the sport. I don't sell VHF Radios or operators courses, the article is p...

Re: Lockable tie down straps
We have been using the lockable straps made by Kanulock for well over two years now to lock sea kayaks to trailers. Despite the stainless steel cable the straps are very flexible and easy to tie off in the normal fashion after locking. We purchase direct from the UK importer, Cygnus Sails, but have ...

I have two sets of these: http://kanulock.com/ We have been using the same product on our trailers for a couple years. They definitely seem pretty solid and our insurance are happy with them. A couple sets are starting to look a little worn and will probably need replaced at the end of this year- I...

Re: Connect 30
The connect 30 system is used in lots of Pyranha WW kayaks, you could try asking around for someone who has a wrecked boat that you could remove the outfitting from. Alternatively, you could try contacting Pyranha/ P&H direct- they have always been helpful when I've got in touch. Good luck with the ...

We have a few Venture Capellas, for us they are fantastic centre boats. They would be equally suitable for someone new to the sport or a club. The construction is single layer plastic, much like the Venture Easky etc., an experienced paddler will notice a little bit of flex whilst paddling but nothi...

I've used an M71 for three years and have never had any issues with it. As Mike says it doesn't float but I've never seen that as a negative as it is lashed to my BA- and it floats! I've had one for about two and a half years, it's been pretty well used and is still dry. If/ when it dies I'll definately get ...
