Check out c1kayakconversions.bigcartel.com or search c1 kayak Conversions on Facebook. There is a new saddle system due out in a few weeks. There are thigh straps available too.
It should be really easy to fit into almost any boat. Have a look and good luck on your first conversion.
Thanks, Paul

Re: Excuses for swimming :)
How about these?
I did not swim. I got out of my boat in deep water to see what would happen.
I did not swim. I was just seeing what it would be like if you needed to swim.
I'm just emptying my boat.
These are excuses I hear when surfing all the time.

Why don't you put a saddle in a paddle it c1? It doesn't matter how long your legs are then!

Ive seen your paddling too, Karl. Might I suggest Decathlon Easybreath for your surfing. http://www.decathlon.co.uk/easybreath-surface-mask-blue-id_8304664.html No, what I'd really like to know is does the visor steam up? Does it stop in whatever position you want? Does it hold water like a bucket i...

Re: recommended kayaks to convert to c1?
I use a pyranha i4 for general use, just converted a surf kayak for the beach, use a drakkar wheelboy for playboating, usexa Spanish fly for rivers. There are a few of the above for sale on c boating uk on facebook at the moment. Really anything that you kayak now and like will be perfect for conver...

I have for sale my son' Jackson Fun 1.5, he has outgrown it and it needs to go to make space for his new one. It comes with a Lomo spraydeck which was new at Christmas and happy feet. It has been used at the beach, the Burrs weir and Liverpool docks. It does have scratches but nothing more than expe...

Check out www.liverpoolcanoeclub.co.uk they do this trip every year and organise mini bus and trailers etc.
Ask for help or advice. It's a fantastic club.

Very unstable, backside in water, feet in the air
Just got myself a Riot Boogie. I had one 12 months ago and missed it as soon as I sold it. I was 15 stone at the time and although a little stern heavy (back loops were a probability). I am now 13 1/2 stone and this boat was really unstable. I mainly paddle canoe and c1 so am used to wobbly boats, b...

Re: Adding latex
I added latex to the whole underside of my spraydeck and around the waist seal too. It made a huge difference. I also regularly smear surfboard sexwax around the cockpit rim. This combo is really sticky and even when at the beach won't come off easily.

Re: How do you store your boats
I hang mine with the bottom of the hull against the wall . I can get 3 boats up the wall stacked on top of each other. I attached ropes to the wall and fasten them through grab loops etc. I have 8 boats including 2 canoes in a shed 5 feet wide and 15 feet long. If the height of your garage is longer...

I was there once when some 5 star and 4 star sea kayak coaches were so slow with some of their students, the night was coming in, and we were losing sight of them that the coastguard mud rescue team had to be called out!

Re: Need Improvised sail for 3*canoe?
If you need poles for a 3*, can't you just take a sail with you. It could be improvised into a shelter. Its quite good to have a sail, and a lee board, just to let the wind do all the work for you. I've gone from Hoylake in the Wirral to Hilbre Island and back without a single paddle stroke. Very lu...

Yes it's fabric socks I've got and I think I look after them. Maybe latex is the way to go. It's just that I'm so tight, I squeek when I walk. I thought there maybe a cheap water repellent that some of you might use.
At least the waters warming up.

I have a Palm Stikine Drysuit and the feet are leaking. Is there any magic solution I can soak them in so that they will be dry again? I'm always swimming so need to waterproof my feet. Its bad for the sole!

Re: I’m disappointed with my canoeing.
If I'm in a canoe with a bulk head or straps and my legs are locked in position I can sit like that for hours with no pain during or after. However, when I paddle my trad canoe I find that the tops of my thighs also ache for a couple of days after. I just put it down to moving around the boat more a...
