Re: Introduction and looking for advice.
Hi, Anglesey is a great location to try out Sea Kayaking. I would recommend finding yourself a course to get through the initial stages before spending cash on a kayak. Your viewpoint on what you will want will change dramatically after trying a few out. Plas Y Brenin, Kayak Essential, Roger Chandle...

Comfortable surf kayak?
Hello, I am based up in North Wales and am after some ideas on comfortable surf kayaks... I realise this is probably a personal thing. I got hold of an old radical moves hooker last year which I have used at Rhosneigr a few times. It's a pretty tight fit and I have to have ballerina/ pointy toes whe...

Re: NDK Explorer HV - back on sale
Sorry,
I have bought this kayak- the OP does not use the site regularly it seems so to save stress keep looking. Might be worth knowing that UK Sea kayaks have an event this weekend- paddles feature and they may have kayaks on a special as well?

These are the Thule model, tightened up with Allen key- they have been bombproof for me.

Roof bars for Astra
I have a second hand set of roof bars for - Vauxhall Astra, the type that grip onto a modern roof gutter- would fit estate or hatchback. If anyone is interested send me a message- Cheers, I have failed to upload photos, can email if you send a message. I am based near Bethesda, and would be prepared...

Re: Tall and advice needed!
Stuart,
I have a colleague who is about 6' 8 and he fits into Rockpool boats pretty well- they are a UK brand based in Holyhead with a full demo fleet available and close to great demo spots. Other suggestions would be Romany explorer HV, also based in Holyhead.
Good luck,
Jim

Re: Rolling in a pool boat harder than a sea kayak?
I would state that the through profile of a kayak does have an effect on my ability to roll it, having had similar challenges to you. We had very square liquid logic kayaks for pool sessions, and one plastic sea boat and the difference between the two were like night and day. The easiest boats I fou...

Re: kayak buddy sought: North Wales
Chris, Snowdonia Canoe Club is worth an extra effort, I used to belong and enjoyed the range of trips that used to take place, especially on the Sea. I think that they have pool sessions at plas menai on a Monday evening, so could be worth a phone call to plas before heading up to make an appearance...

Liquid Logic Jefe
For Sale. LL Jefe Orange (colour) £375. This boat is less than two years old, it cost me £749 and has not had a hard life by any means! I am selling as I am now doing more open boating than kayaking, and well there is only so much space in the garage. This kayak has always been stored inside and is ...

Mid Wales Water levels
Rivers still have more than ideal water levels in, at least in lower reaches of Severn and Vrywy. Much flooding around Welshpool with lots of standing water on fields to side of A483 today. Wye still high, but not ridiculously so, two steps of hay landing stage visible this afternoon. Teme and Lugg ...

River Teme conditions in Ludlow
River Teme has plenty of water on it at moment, with most of the rapids above the Bridge just forming a big wave train. Watch out for the new weir which is hard to scout in big water. Rivers Clun and Onny ( both feeder streams) were full of water and the Teme will stay high for a good week I would g...

River Conditions Mid Wye
I would add that the weather conditions in the Shropshire borders have been extremely wet, I have not seen the Wye since monday but as it was not far off bank full then....I would safely bet that you won't hit any rocks on the bottom of the river. Note the Severn is flooding, and the Wye and Severn ...

Mid Wales Water levels
I drove past the Middle Wye, Severn and the River Ithon today, late lunchtime. Both rivers are heaving with water with the Hell Hole looking almost hellish. Would imagine they will be paddleable for the weekend at a good level. Still raining hard in Shropshire tonight. Anyone seen the Llugwy/Conwy r...
