Re: sea paddles

I started out with a cheap Carlisle Aloy shaft Nylon blades 230cm long that came with kayak. I soon thought that this was heavy and unweildy and bought a 210cm split Aloy Carlisle paddle (too good a deal to pass up). Have since splashed out on a carbon Werner Skagit 210cm which I find I mostly have ...

Re: neoprene seals

5Ltr tin of Dulux brilliant white emulsion left in the neck for 1 week at room temprature should sort the problem. you may need to wet the seal to get it over the tin initialy. If you haven't got any Dulux brilliant white other colours will do ;-)

Re: Typhoon Swarm Shoes

Hi Simon, I have a pair of these, they have fairly good grip and are comfy but don't have a very thick sole, the sole that they do have has also all but fallen off on one shoe and is doing the same on the other. The loops that hold the laces have also broken in a few places, I can't say I'd recomme...

I use a pair of (3M cut down to 2.5M) £1:99 CamLock straps of Fleabay to go through my uprights and strap 1 boat on it's side. Then I use a pair of good quality 3M Palm Camlock straps to hold boats down on to my Thule Aero Bars. The Palm straps are a much superior strap than most others and are wort...

Hi Big Ade, I think this is a great Idea. I often have to go kayaking by myself (safe waters only), as my paddling partner only manages a trip infrequently. I find that I can only manage to get out when my Wife is about to help load. This old codger would appreciate some younger fitter person offeri...

It's a noise thing. Square bars = whistling, Aero Bars = less whistling and Wing Bars = barely a whisper.
Warning! Wing and Aero Bars don't accept all items of mounting kit on the market and some so called addaptors are downright ugly.

If you click on the Peak free ride jacket on the back wall display at the back of the shop the next level opens up. Next level completed, but how do you get through the door marked 'Private'? Thats great dougoutcanoe, probably better that the one on the Rivers Access Campaign site as it is more individual and doesn't look like constituents are just sending the same email/letter. I think you are more likely to get a response to an individual query than just a standard letter.

Hence my distaste at the BCU's farcical, immoral attempts to get their members signed...
