FS: Murky Water Funk

I am selling my beautiful Funk squirt boat built by Murky Water. It comes in iridescent green, meaning that it changes its colour depending on the viewpoint: http://s15.postimg.org/b8mfp3vm3/P1090773.jpg Condition: The boat is in mint condition since it has only been used a few times on flat water f...

Re: LEarning how to 'bounce' in a bow stall for Flat water l

Here is a video of Dane Jackson doing a flatwater loop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZq2HRAzQ_I You can click on pause and then using the left/right arrow key advance frame by frame through the video. Notice how the upper body remains more or less constant apart from the very last bounce. Yester...

Re: LEarning how to 'bounce' in a bow stall for Flat water l

Are you able to loop in a hole? Flatwater looping is more difficult, so looping in a hole will help you to get the movement right. I am currently also in the process of learning the flatwater loop and in my last session I made some progress, which I would like to share. It helped me a lot to underst...

Re: Learning outdoor German and french

I don't know how good your German is, but if you can read basic stuff you could get some kayaking book which is available in English and German, and then directly compare them if you don't understand the meaning. Some of them might even have a glossary, describing the terminology. Even though I am G...

Re: Squirt boat mold...

I guess the only person who can answer this is the designer of the original plug that has been used for the construction of the mold. If it is an original Big Foot, Jim Snyder is the person to talk to. If the mold has been constructed by copying an existing boat without the permission of the designe...

Video collection of squirtboating moves

Hello, I think it is a good idea to collect online videos of squirtboating moves so that beginners (such as myself) can have a look and get a better feeling how these moves are done. It would be great if we could manage to collect a bunch of videos. So, let's begin: squirt judging video: https://www...

Re: Wavesport T2 Bumpers

I have seen people making their own bumpers using glassfibre/carbon and resin. If the T2 (don't know this boat) has screws for fixing the straps in the bow/stern, you can drill a hole in your custom-made bumpers and then fix them using these screws. You should additionally glue them with some PU adh...

Who makes spraydecks for squirtboats?

Hello, I need a new spraydeck for my squirtboat and I'm wondering what manufacturers still make squirt decks. Currently I own a very worn squirtdeck and a PeakUK K1 slalom cagdeck, which both leak. It would be great if you could post what spraydeck you use, which boat it fits, whether it has a dryli...

Re: Shred-cut for my bigfoot

Thanks Pete for the extraordinarily good answers! I have just had my first flat water session in my squirt for this year. After sealing the cockpit rim with sikaflex it leaks a bit less than before and I only had to get rid of the water after 10 minutes, which was fine as I couldn't stand sitting in...

Re: Shred-cut for my bigfoot

I have posted on the Angstkayak forums and people over there suggest that cutting the ends off won't be of much use and that the problem is rather due to the width and the cross-sectional shape of the bigfoot. Thanks a lot for the pictures of your bigfoot, Pete. Have you float-cut it on your own? I ...

Shred-cut for my bigfoot

As suggested in this post http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=102064#p693361 I have decided I want to shorten my bigfoot (i have already taken out as much as possible at the seam). As I don't have that much experience in composite craft I have a bunch of questions lest I do...

Hi,

I'm looking for a small Jackson Happy Feet as my feet are currently quite unhappy in my squirtboat. Just make an offer if you have one in a decent condition.

Thanks

Re: What boat for beginner?

A Shred cut is a cut that removes the roundness from the front of a bigfoot and makes it more pointy thus taking the volume out of the very ends. So instead of removing volume between deck and hull I would just shorten the front and replace the round nose with a triangular shape? A final thought is...

Re: What boat for beginner?

How long are the Asylum boats approximately? What about the Angst boats (they seem to be one of the shortest boats out there)? I have already chopped down my bigfoot... whilst being very uncomfortable I still can not throw it around with ease... What does "shred cut" exactly mean? Thanks for your re...

What boat for beginner?

Hello, I am wondering what would be the best squirt boat model for me. I am mostly interested in flatwater squirtboating. Currently I do own a chopped down bigfoot (got it second hand quite cheap). With me in the boat the cockpit rim is just above the water surface with the rest of the boat being in...

Zero To Hero

Hi playboaters out there, I'm trying to master zero to hero (upside down to stern stall). What I do is edging the boat when upside down in the very beginning of a sweep stroke. Then I interrupt this sweep stroke, pull hard on the paddle while leaning back. However, it just doesn't work...neither doe...

Re: Shipping boat to New Zealand - Advice please

If you can not check-in the boat as luggage in the plane I reckon the cheapest option is to sell the boat and get a new one in NZ. I have shipped a boat from NZ to Europe and in the end I have paid approximately 500 Pounds for the shipping and custom fees..

Hope this helps a bit

Re: Wanted: Creeker in Europe Mainland (e.g. Pyranha Burn S)

I am regularly checking that second hand forum. However, the second hand market in UK is way more vital, so I thought if someone who sells his boat is coming over here anyway, it might be a good option to get a boat.

Thanks though!
