Yes but, The person paddling it is the constant. The boat is the variable. Well it's not in this case, the boat is the constant (as he would be paddling a karnali) and his skills are the variable. I don't understand your logic. I was responding directly to "A boat is only as good as the person padd...

Lost Burn 3 on The barle.
Ok ladies and gents! I'm hunting down a boat that's lost/been taken/stashed. A new pyranha burn 3, large, yellow orange. A friend swam yesterday on the Barle and lost the boat, it was later recovered by the police who put it on the side of the road. However not it has gone. Please share this and rin...

Re: Burn 2014 vs Mamba 2013
I do it by having a slight downstream edge and as I cross the eddy line I flatten my boat out. The boat will carve into the eddy. No, if the boat is flat it will plane into the eddy. Putting on an edge, as Simon says, will allow the boat to carve. As Giles said above, it sounds like you're doing th...

Re: Kokatat Meridian Dry Suit
Hello, As far as repairs they are done in the UK now. I believe them to be the best dry suits in the market and recently made the plunge myself. The goretex fabric is super silky and dries fast I'm yet to see the longevity. Kokatat state the Gore tex to be 20% more breathable than the Hydrus materia...

Re: Burn 2014 vs Mamba 2013
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/194/tzgp.jpg I have been loving it. At 78kg I recommend getting in the Large Burn to try. I'm 80kg and 5'10 and it feels great for me. I went for the biggest 'wedge' to really bring myself out of the boat. I find myself feeling like (though not according ...

The Shiva is heay I did some pretty long walk ins last winter and noticed it. The new Burn range is lovely and light Espescially when considered to a Mamba or Recon. But you would bein the XL and we I'll name too see what it's like when it comes out. I paddle the medium shiva at 80kg and the new lar...

I have seen a lot of "improving paddlers" have a roll/swim at Euthanasia recently. The majority on the boof line. At low to medium levels the "boof line*" offers no tactical advantage** in comparison to the "gutter line". The right line, offers the clear tactical advance of right to left lateral mo...

Yeah I understood you were exaggerating.
My argument lies with your jump from one specific case to insinuating It may lead or is an example of this.

Taken to its logical conclusion, where exactly does this sort of woolly thinking lead us? Alton Towers? I dont think Exaggerating something beyond specific example to reach a "logical conclusion" as a powerful point works here. Infact I think the only thing wooly is your leap that one action here c...

Awesome idea...any other suggestions for dangerous riverbeds which can be fixed? For my part, I'd like to see all those potholes on the Fairy Glen filled in. Surely also, there is a case for inflatable fenders lining the low water route on Euthanasia? The idea of changing a river doesn't appeal to ...

To be clear I'm not implying you should have said that, however,I'm guessing this paddler had seen the pin video before And went into this rapid thinking "I can do this"
