Re: dee access

The last post on their FB page was a statement saying that the agreement was not just for commercial paddlers but represented an agreement for all water users. I, and quite a few others, used the review feature to correct them and point out that they were bulls***ting. Something Iike 50 1 star revie...

Re: Lower Conwy (Llanrwst) experience?

Not recent but a couple of years back a few of us parked a company van and trailer in the little car park over the bridge in Llanwrst. We carried 3 canoes to the river edge, got on once we'd checked everything over and paddled away. All this mid morning on a lovely sunny day. We had no idea there mi...

Hi, would you mind giving me the dimensions of the random footplates please? I need something for a Master TG. Don't suppose you have the aluminium rails too?

I've done it in a Burn and Jefe. It has been done in an Inazone, Master TG, Mamba and probably more. Quite a rocky trip.
All kayaks if that's what's you meant.

TREE DOWN
Just after the layby get-out before Townhead bridge. Trunk completely crossing river just above water level at low levels. Likely to be on or just under when in spate. No eddies likely. Get out at layby get off.
You can see this tree from the road.

Re: Bamford to Baslow - Peak District

Yep, I've done it from Ladybower to Bamford and Bamford to Froggatt weir on 2 separate occasions. Not tried it in open boats yet as I wanted to get it sussed in kayaks, which are also easier to get round blockages and bailiffs! There is a PDF guide to the Derwent in the making. Ignore the local twee...

Launch in the normal place. Nothing has changed and if everyone goes elsewhere we may as well just admit to being in the wrong.

Re: RIVER DERWENT (Darley Dale to Matlock)

@damppaddler - The council have lost out on my parking fees for both personal visits and for a minibus and trailer in my professional capacity a lot over the last few years. I've never understood why they have barriers there at all (I mean I know why they are used but why that place and nowhere else...

7 of us paddled a mix of canoe and kayaks from Darley Bridge get on to the slalom course yesterday. No access hassles at all. 0.41m on the gauge, I wouldn't bother any lower.

Been using that track for personal access and professional access since moving to the Peak District in 2007. Never had so much as a sniff of an issue there. Was never a big fan of parking all day there though.

FS: Pyranha S6f 192

I'm selling my Pyranha S6f 192 She's been shed stored out of the sun and free from holes and cracks. The hull shows the usual scratches for a used boat but no seriously deep gouges or weak points. The ratchets of the Syncro6 outfitting are a little rusty but work as they should. The hip pads are lon...

Nice one - I've been hassling them to remove that rubbish for aver a year. Chris Martin was the Peak River Advisor as well! Keep CE informed. I had a good meeting last year and they were prepared to back increased access but did stop short of supporting the publication of guides to the Peak area's r...

Re: Nookie Rivermonster, Palm Amp, Artistic Orco Pro, or San

Just as an extra, I carried a 20cm ish pruning saw through the neoprene tube in the River Monster. Good fit. Sadly nowhere to fit it in the Amp but still happy. No need to answer the amount of kit question as the guys above have done that.

Re: Nookie Rivermonster, Palm Amp, Artistic Orco Pro, or San

Had the old red model of the Nookie River Monster and really liked the flatter profile on the front. Really good for getting back into open boats after a self rescue. I didn't replace it when the zip eventually died as I just found the pocket a little small for the amount of kit I was wanting to car...
