Helmet with MIPS

I'm currently on the look out for a new paddling/snowboarding helmet and have noticed a lot of ski brands are introducing the MIPS system into their helmets. (MIPS is a slip plane concept, using two layers in the helmet to help the head rotate slightly on impact reducing incidence of rotational brai...

Has anyone attempted to raise the seat in a raptor?

I'm trying to work out how it can be done without biblical amounts of duct tape and carry mat all over the place.

Re: Mekong - Information required

I was out in Laos 2 years ago and paddled some big bouncy grade 3/4 down south in the four thousand islands. Quite a few companies do sit-on-top and inner tube trips down some of the mellow grade 2 sections portaging the big waterfalls - there was definitely some chunky grade 5 lines to be had but t...

Re: Everest as an alternative to Burn M (+ other options)

Sounds like the Everest is a brilliant option for you as an upgrade to the Burn M. My general (favourable) impression is that the Everest feels like a faster more dynamic version of the Burn L. I like. This is bang on, the Everest is like a cut down, narrower, more bullet shaped version of the Burn ...

Re: Venezuela video: the long one

Wow, Scott some of those stories really do sound horrific. Thankfully in our 2.5 months out there we managed to completely avoid being attacked or robbed. I'd mainly put that down to the fact we were always accompanied by an amazing guy called Roque who acted as our translator/guide/fixer. Using his...

Re: Grumpy Spray deck, too tight

I originally had the same issue, fitting a grumpy deck onto an Everest - it feels like the cockpit's length is far to big to stretch over. Soaking it in warm water and leaving over night is a good idea - after that just persevere with it, the deck will stretch out the longer it spends on the boat. I...

Theres also a playspot below the bridge at Fenny Bridges - comes into condition when the river high (not quite getting to the trees). Smooth green wave - turns into a perfect V shaped breaking wave in flood but the run off is full of trees.

My advice would be don't buy anything in Auckland unless you really can't avoid it. Everything sells for double the standard price and your more than likely to get a heap of junk. We bought a van at a car lot near the viaduct and got stung - found out the head gasket was shot, blew half way down the...

Is there anyone living around Brighton that gets out river running/playboating/surfing a lot?

I've just started uni here and I'd really like to get involved if anyones getting out to Devon/Wales/Hurley over the winter.

Re: What can I do with a broken helmet?

sweet helmets have a 2 year garretee on them, if you have had it less that this then send it back and they will replace it. Nice thought, but I'm fairly sure the guarantee covers against defects in workmanship. I've got a cracked helmet, instead of a cracked head - I think sweet have done their job.

What can I do with a broken helmet?

Managed to put a 3 inch lightning crack down the carbon on my sweet rocker in switzerland this year. Fairly sure the helmet is a write-off + not sure my skull is worth the gamble. Ideas on what to do with it now? Ideally I'd like to get some money out of it - but not let anyone own themselves using ...
