Re: Another East Lyn Pin

Quoted from Simon Westgarth from Facebook. Hope you don't mind Simon. " Clearly a change, there was never a slot dropping to the right before. The water used to flow straight off a square on lip. There is also more water running down the right too, and no eddy on the right above these days." Jack wa...

Re: Another East Lyn Pin

Yep I ran this first and had a good line by stating off on the right hand side of the shoot above so I could charge left. Jack was the last to go down the rapid. I was confident at hitting the line and I did but I would definitely be more cautions of this rapid next time. I will definitely have safe...

Re: Another East Lyn Pin

I was watching older videos of it today Mark and the rapid seemed to look slightly different. When you were on the rapid today you could really feel the water pushing you right. Maybe something has changed in the rapid?

Another East Lyn Pin

So today we paddled the East Lyn and had seen the videos of the the other vertical pins on the Lyn Gorge. Well it happened again today but backwards. What do people think about this rapid? It really does seem to have a huge risk factor. What you can't see from the video is that Jack's head is underw...

STOLEN- Project x 48 and VE paddles from Mile End Mill

I left my red and black Wavesport Project x and VE carbon cranked paddles in the the shed that collapsed at Mile end mill. I went to retrieve them but they were no longer there. If anyone knows anymore about the situation I would really appreciate it.

Re: More Trouble @ Mile End Mill

I asked them the same question Mark. They said any kit in the shed was left there under their own risk, although they didn't state this to me at the time. The building is now for sale.

Re: More Trouble @ Mile End Mill

I really do hope this is the case Nigel. This was the main reason for this post just in case anyone knew about it. I have spoken to Llangollen canoe club who have had access to the shed. They said they had seen my paddle in there but hadn't gone in and got it but when they went to go and get their k...

More Trouble @ Mile End Mill

I’ve had a run of bad luck as a result of the situation at Mile End Mill, Llangollen, and wonder if anyone can help. My kayak and kit were temporarily stored in the mill while I was there for 2 weeks work experience. The day after I finished the snows came and no staff turned up to unlock the buildi...

Re: GCSE P.E. - Kayaking

Hi Neil, I did kayaking for GCSE. I presented my evidence in a video. The teachers told me to make a video that showed a range of skills. I think they just wanted to see I could kayak competently. My friend also did it on a lake just showing the 2 star syllabus via video. Here is the video that got ...

Re: Boats you don't see much.

The Exo Xt 260 was my favorite boat Iv'e ever paddled. I bought it in Norway as it was the cheapest second hand boat around and couldn't believe how much I liked it. I was gutted when it broke and would definitely buy another if they were available in the UK. You can get it from here. It may take a...

Re: Access on the Hampshire river Avon......again

Here is some photo's of yesterdays paddling, I had not seen the wier like this before it was a small hole and just about deep enough for loops on the river left side where there was also a little exit route off the stopper. It was retentive but would let you free if you capsized. Sorry they are on F...

Re: Access on the Hampshire river Avon......again

Had some more issues here again yesterday. The land owner first started off telling us to go away as this is 'private property'. I have had enough of argueing with them as they just dont listen so I just ignored him. This got him really pissed off and he started shouting at the top of his voice just...
