Re: Alps question - club trip
I'm heading out at the start of the school holidays because I'm a teacher. Might well be looking for people to boat with and know a few rivers after a visit last year. I'm guessing its pretty easy to find people to boat with because of the amount of people out there normally?

Looking for UKCC L1&2 course near Nottingham 12-27th April
Hi, I am looking for UKCC L1 and L2 courses during the school Easter holidays. I would also be interested in FSR and BCU 2 star courses being incorporated into the courses if possible. There is a group of around 4 or 5 of us looking to do some courses so I am trying to get an idea of availability an...

Re: Trent lock is running!
If you use the Shardlow gauge it is worth considering the River Soar and River Erewash both join the Trent after the gauge but before the weir at Trent Lock. The levels from these might have an effect on the wave. I always use the Colwick gauge because its the only one I know the calibrations for. N...

Any suggestions for campsites? a group of us are heading out late June/ Early July and wouldn't mind meeting up with other groups of boaters. So far people have suggested Aktiv Camping at Prutz so we are looking at going there.

I'm having a clear out. Werner sidekicks, very well used. Lots of scratches, were 191 but worn down to around 189 now. Ideal for smaller newbie. Good for spares or splits. £30. Palm Sidewinder, used. Neck seal is spilt. Has been glued and survived a weekend but no guarantees how long it will last. w...

FS: Werner Sidekicks £50
Hi, I am selling my Werner Sidekick Paddles. They are well used as you can see from the pictures. They were 191cm 45 degree feather. However they have worn down to about 188/189cm now and the blade is smaller. Would be ok for smaller paddlers looking for some cheap blades or for splits. http://i1123...

Re: Best creeker on the market?
Yeh cheers Dave im lucky enough to have demo'd most of the boats I can think of short of the stomper actually. I was more curious were popular opinions lie rather than a what should I buy. Why? Buy the one you liked the most. No point buying a boat your not as keen on because some people on the int...

FS: Cheap Creek Boat
I am selling my Robson Charger. It is not the most modern design but still nice to paddle with plenty of speed and turns well when on edge. The outfitting is also very effective, perhaps the best of any boat I have paddled. The boat is in great condition, there are no deep scratches or welds. I am a...

Re: Peak rivers today
Replied on other post but thought I'd put it here as well. There was one fence on the Dane, just over half way. Can't remember exactly where though. It was two strands of barbed wire across the river. We could sneak through but could be an issue at different levels. also a few trees down that needed...

Re: RIVER DANE (Gradbach to Rushton Spencer)
We also paddled Clough Brook that flows into the Dane river right. We got on from a layby on the side road that runs next to the river about a kilometer above the A54 bridge over the Clough Brooke, just over half way to Wildboarclough. There was nice 6 foot drop we got on above. However the 300 mete...

Re: RIVER DANE (Gradbach to Rushton Spencer)
A group of us paddled the Dane yesterday. There was 2 strands of barbed wire across the river about half way down. Sorry cant be more specific because I can't quite remember how far down it was exactly. Could sneak through at the time but could be difficult in other levels.

Lost VE Paddles: Dane trib
Hi, Lost my VE paddles on Clough Brooke, a dane Trib, in the Peaks today. They could be anywhere along Clough Brooke or the lower half of the Dane section. There probably in a tree or fence somewhere because we finished the run but couldnt see them. Long shot I know because I guess it isnt paddled t...

Re: Peak rivers today
A group of us paddled the Dane and one of its tribs, Clough Brooke, today. It was the first time any of us have paddled in the Peaks. We had a fun day and was suprised how many rivers seemed to be running in the area.
