Re: New Zet Raptor

Hi Well here we go ! 1. I'm 6'2" with loooong legs and size 11/12 (UK) feet. 2. I hesitated in buying a raptor due to; 2.1 thigh grips too low and wide 2.2 feet too cramped. But..... 3. I loved how the boat paddled. Ok diff boof technique (edge over just before the stroke sorts this). So I.. 4. Boug...

Re: Pyranha Everest

Hi, I can email them but if you also look on FB used kayaks there are more pictures there. Seat, pillar outfitting all perfect no tears rips etc. It has a solid front pillar - not foam. The connect 30 system is superb - light and works well with ratchets fine and also original hip pads which are in ...

Dagger Axiom 8.5 WW spec cheap

I've an axiom I really don't use much due to too many boats. OK condition...no welds or canning just a couple of slightly deeper marks which haven't affected structure at all and a bit of bolt hotch potch. Outfitting excellent..full expanding foot plate and adjustable seat etc. Looking at £280 so a ...

Bliss Stick RAD 185 Going CHEAP CHEAP

Great boat for the larger paddler yet nice and playable. I'm 6'2" size 12 feet and can get in. This boat has the all too common of a wee split just behind the cockpit rim which has been properly welded (not bodged by owner) and has survived weir play and the odd G3 run for a couple of years. Overall...

Sadly you are in a certain quartile size - wise; that quartile isn't the one that any other male adult paddlers are in.

Re: Fluid Element **WANTED**

Yep the newer outfitting. Came in a year or so ago.

I still think the floor mounted ones work just fine as the boat is much narrower than most river boats - meaning that if you need to exit there is less to clobber your shins.

Re: Fluid Element **WANTED** - may be selling..

I've had the 'older' element with floor based ratchets - and other fluid boats with the same and I find this works just fine you get a snug enough connected fit. Given the element is narrow at 25" means having a clutter free rim works well. Also saves skirts! As for the boat - well despite its lengt...

Bliss Stick RAD 195 - Rare bigger paddlers playboat

Hi, Well I've come to realise that I'm probably a little too light to (try and) play in this boat. I have had this boat a few years now and used it just on my local weir and once on the Tryweryn where it actually performed very well indeed. Its been in my shed for months now; just got it out and my ...

Re: Chilly - in fact really freakin cold!!!!

...layers layers layers.. Rather than a single thick fleece I use multiple HH thermal (non merino wool) tops (up to 4!) and dare i say it some from Aldi too. I put on as many as feel like when i get to the water and that usually suffices - the layers wick well, trap air and are easy to 'configure' f...

Re: Tryweryn pay and play

Well it seems that seasoned economists are running CW. Rationale: In Winter (especially this one yee ha) there are rivers to run, paddle and swim in; ergo little need to visit Tryweryn (elasticity of demand). As Dave F points out, the £15 fee helps fuel the desire to run 'real rivers' hurrah! Person...

Re: Burn 2014 vs Mamba 2013

Sorry to bang on about the Everest but its flexibility does amaze me - my 5'4" sub 70kg mate paddled mine. As a beginner he went amazingly well with it. Outfitted him great.Pyranha has outfitting which really adjusts for all sizes. The key may be in being more narrow (26.5" for the everest vs medium...

Re: Burn 2014 vs Mamba 2013

Lancs lad has it - IMHO a good paddler will nail a line in any boat regardless of how rounded, flat edge or no edge.. However after about 30 boats I've finally realised this...its more down to the ability of that lump of flesh paddling the boat. Find my everest is not that grabby in bigger water - a...
