ok....updated figures; 150.3 miles Carter Johnson........using a surfski, in august 2006. Anyone else know of others? If i can locate a suitable venue, looking to have an attempt at the record in 2011. Can anyone sugest a venue? @ 2 mile course, preferably with an oval course requiring wide turns......

After a bit of searching, the latest attempt and distance ...........for 24hr flatwater no-current......i can find is 2006, and a distance of 147 miles. Many thanx Craig......... Full info; Training well for the Cheshire Ring......so @18 ( dont want to give too much away!!) hours non-stop. B1......good for 90-120 minutes then forearms tire and stroke compromised...rotation still good, but dont feel like i am fully controlling the blade through the w...

Graham......definately a good break after the Cheshire Ring....r u doing it this year? My overall plan would be to have a Long Distance UK Marathon championship, comprising, for example ,of say 6 races, and your best results at 4 to count...... so, say, Wye 100......( does not exist.....yet! ) DW Ch...

Thanx for the input....much to consider, but i like the dual format, with the fast race at the front and ones who just wish to complete at the rear.

Would love to get this up and running in some guise for the end of summer 2011.

Definately a two day event to begin with.
