Biggest lesson learnt was probably that was it worth the damage to self and boat, probably not!

The final attempts used a third Karabiner, after that with us three 'burly' guys pulling on it the line was probably the weak link and would have snapped/damaged the boat.

No, in hindsight should have thought about that. But I thought it was only resting by the weight of the water rather than really stuck.

'Chip shop drop' is a crude modern Anglicising of a perfectly good Welsh name. Had to use the expression recently so other paddlers would understand, it left a bitter taste of shame. 0.55 is The Cwm Llan on back of Snowdon.
2.55 The shot facing towards me, is the Balmuccia Section on the Lower Sesia In Italy. When the water was high and the right hand line opens up a bit more.

I went up there last week, and looks like the work is almost complete and water will be removed sometime before January talking to the gentleman living at the bottom who was a paddler.
