The final attempts used a third Karabiner, after that with us three 'burly' guys pulling on it the line was probably the weak link and would have snapped/damaged the boat.

No, in hindsight should have thought about that. But I thought it was only resting by the weight of the water rather than really stuck.

That is terrible, condolences to the family. just makes you appreciate the force of water even with such little volume as the grizedale. :(

0.55 is The Cwm Llan on back of Snowdon.
2.55 The shot facing towards me, is the Balmuccia Section on the Lower Sesia In Italy. When the water was high and the right hand line opens up a bit more.
