1.1 on the gauge
Hmmm OK but probably better going to the ditch!
Sustained eye level mysteries - not much power and struggle to find depth.

On a plus you can go watch stupid people dive head first off the weir!

Unfortunately I missed Saturdays session but did turn up to say hello! Fishing season started on Sunday, talking with the guys on the bank (who were setting up on Saturday to start fishing at 12:01am Sunday morning!) it's apparently quite a popular fishing spot. They were more than happy for us to b...

Not sure how close to you that is? Or you could try getting hold of a guy called Helmut, he's a German squirterist (i...

From memory, small, steep and committing. It was all good when we ran it apart from one siphon which was quite a way off line. As with all that stuff higher up trees can cause issues...

Not so boring how long to kayak 36km of the Midlands WW?

OK I might die of boredom but, stay with me! I was going to drive round to see what all the local play spots were doing with this little bit of water were enjoying, but a quick google check and I can do all (bar 2) by boating 36km! Definitely not doing it in a play boat so how long in my creeker? St...

Re: Stern squirts...rotation?

Three strokes to a perfect stern squirt - for the heathens who don't own a copy of the squirt bible Starting on the flat a little forward speed 1 - a forward sweep stoke to start the rotation - lean to the outside of the turn (the opposite way to normal) 2 - a pry on the opposite side (a backward sw...

Morsey,

I'm with you clear water spiraling off down the eddy in dinner plate size whirl pools. Only it looks better looking up! Only a squirt boater perspective unfortunately!

We used a watch based one for a first descent in Norway. With no inspection possible before getting on the river and only a rubbish topo map to use as a guide it was kinda useful to work out what was coming (like a really big no go waterfall!) A word of warning tho water and barometric altimeters do...
