Re: Why don't we ALL paddle S.O.Ts .. ?

Just came across this old thread and thought it really needs bringing up to date. There's now a range of inexpensive rotomoulded sit on tops that have their design based partly on SurfSkis and partly on traditional sit on tops. Nelo and Epic both have rotomoulded fast yet stable sit on tops that are...

Re: Transporting sea Kayak

Hi Guys - looks like my V bars should be ok Steve - yeah it does look like a barge but it's really just for family fun as opposed to spirited paddling. I have been hankering after a performance sea kayak to train up in to attempt the Eddystone Challenge but I can't currently afford the right boat ! ...

Transporting sea Kayak

Hi I'm from a canoeing and marathon kayaking background and I have been offered at a great price a sea kayak (Easky 15). If I do buy it would the V bars we use for marathon kayaks be suitable for transporting it on the car roof ? If not what is the preferred method of transporting sea kayaks around ...

Who sits which end in a K2 ?

Hi Guys / Girls After some advice please - we are thinking about getting a k2 ( Condor or suchlike) for fitness, the odd Hasler and DW. We've done lots of C2 paddling with me (85kg) in the back and my partner (55kg) in the front, she struggled with the steering in C2 so went in the front but what wou...

Good Luck to all who enter - This is a brilliant race that I entered in 2010 and enjoyed immensely. Hopefully my record will still be intact after this weekends race ( the record for the most capsizes in the first 100 yards). Looking back at the beach seeing my wife doubled over laughing will also r...

Hi There to all fellow DW ers Just a quick headsup - The Crofton Section of canal is currently empty ! Well at least 4 of the pounds are and the towpath is also closed. Re: DW 2012

Hi Barmy, Might be worth double checking the tide times as most tide tables are published in GMT not BST.The clocks will have moved forward an hour for April. Therefore it looks like High Water at Richmond is 4.28 am BST and 17.01pm BST on Sunday 8th April 2012. The sluices are open 2 hours before t...

Re: Kevlar Repair

Hi Hackworth / Chris,

Thanks for the guidance - I've now been on the Axminster site and ordered the right kit, I have also been advised in the past to reinforce the inside of the "wings" on my J-203, so I can now finally do this at the same time.

Thanks again for your help

Hi Nick, I just surfed in on your thread - I've got a similar plan to you - I bought a C1 in may this year and have been training up to do some races in 2010 ( including the DW and Watersides, I've never raced before ). I was lucky and managed to buy a Summersong ( fibreglass ), we've also got an Ol...
