Re: Nepal v. Chile: how much?

So last year Nepal cost me £550 for a flight and £550 spending money for 5 weeks including flying a boat out and back. (a few multi day trips kept the cost down as well. Nov into December The previous year 7 weeks in Chile cost me £1850 (truck hire being a big part of this) including the cost of buy...

Royalex Evergreen Prospector 16 fully outfitted

Evergreen Prospector 16 in royalex. This boat paddles amazingly, very similar to the We-noa-nah prospector but touch narrower, with a slightly flatter hull and slightly more primary stability. I have used it loads, and it performs well on everything from gently cruising , grade 3 ww, and open water ...

Re: Clough near Sedbergh

Hi Mark,

I would use 1.2 on the Rawthey as a minimum for the lower and 1.5 as worth a drive to the upper as that's when it starts to run.

Its surprising how much difference in levels there can be between the two parallel valleys!

There's a tree down on it somewhere, Didn't cause us any problems but can't remember where it is, sorry I cant be more precise, paddled the Troutbeck, Sprint, and Clough a week or so back and there were 5 trees down between them the only portage was on the sprint.

Re: River Kent egress request

So Lots of myths on here!! The land river left, alongside and below Force Falls is owned by a private fishing syndicate, They often will tell you to get out upstream of the bridge on river right and walk up the track, this is however not owned by them and is private land. This understandably, genera...

Weather station conveniently located at the start of the great north swim, at Low wood marina.

The weather temperature seems to relatively accurate, and at a guess its what the swim use to measure it.

Hi Mike, Some good advice above, Book your self an appointment at Body Rehab in Stavely, They were great with my shoulder and only deal with sports injuries. See if you can get a referral to DR Funk at Wigan, he's the specialist in the area and got me an MRI, Good Luck and hit the Physio hard! Ian

Hi, Like the rest of the uk, this high pressure has meant no rain for what feels like forever. Unfortunatly there are no rivers in the lakes that have any water in them for the weekend, The only moving water option being the jet of flow at the Sands Center, Carsile, Or some very scrapy Grade 2 at Ha...

Re: Large Fusion for 80kg noob

Hi, To answer our questions, 1) At 80kg, your towards the bottom of the weight range but not too light for the boat, Your right in saying 'I assume with less weight it sits higher in the water giving less contact area with the water making it easier to turn.' But this doesent mean you won't be able ...
