Re: Medium Men's Yak Drysuit

Hi Jon, it's about eight years old but I've not been paddling for the last four years so it's been in storage for a fair proportion of that! Yep, it's fully waterproof. Cheers.

Set of VE carbon cranked paddles for sale. Zero degree feather, 195 length. In very good condition having only been used a few times on the river. Will supply with a Lomo paddle bag. Wavesport ZG48 Playboat For Sale

Wavesport ZG48 playboat for sale. In very good condition with only usual small scratches from use. Great river running playboat for the smaller paddler (I'm around 170cm and 75kg and it's ideal). Seen use on a few UK rivers and a couple of trips to the White Nile where it surfed really well. No foot...

OT: Mazda MX5 For Sale

Hello all, regretfully I need to sell my 1997 Mk1 1.6i Monza Edition as I just can't justify running two cars :(. Not perhaps the ideal paddle wagon (although I can get my playboat in the passenger seat with the roof down!) It's a UK spec car (88hp) with 66,000 miles on the clock in decent condition...

Re: Dry suit maintenance

It's worth using talcum powder on the latex seals to stop them from perishing (I do mine after every use) You'll also want to get some wax for the zips if it's got metal ones. You can get blocks of beeswax from diving shops that are designed for this but I just use a candle and that seems to keep th...

Lost Vertical Element Paddles - River Quoich/Dee

Hello all, I lost a set of Vertical Element paddles on the River Quoich this Saturday (3/12/11) – the Quoich feeds into the Dee so they might well be stuck somewhere further downstream. They’re zero degree feather, full carbon cranks – 190cm length. No identification marks on them (they were pretty ...

Re: Werner Player Paddle -Info wanted, much appreciated

If it's sealed it'l float better than if it's filled with foam. Air is more boyant than foam. Aluminium is notoriously difficult to weld because of the argon environment required to prevent oxidising. If you cut a slot in each end exaclty the right width for your aluminium sheet then drill 2 holes ...

Re: Werner Player Paddle -Info wanted, much appreciated

Surely, when the sheet is inserted and pop riveted, the rivet will both keep the sheet in approximately the right place and squeeze the two portions of the tube together onto the sheet providing more stability. Quite happy to be proved otherwise but it's my understanding that a strong pop-rivetted ...

Re: Werner Player Paddle -Info wanted, much appreciated

I can't see how you're going to pop-rivet sheet into a tube? The nature of that kind of fastener requires the two componets to be squeezed together which isn't, to my mind, going to be possible if you have the slot for the sheet cut into the centre of the tube. Other than that - sounds interesting. ...
