Corsica 22nd - 28th April - anyone about?

Myself and one other are heading to Corsica at Easter staying like most at Camping Ernella.

Is anyone else heading out at this time and would like to buddy up? 😊

Hello,

Has anyone tried these? Are they any good. Need new boots and I've had 5.10 for years. Don't know whether to just but another pair.

Thanks!

Are Zet / Pyranha / Dagger footrest bolts compatible with Riots?

I need to buy some footrest nuts for a Riot Magum. ASAP. I believe it's an M6 nut. I can't find official Riot spares so wondering do other manufacturers parts fit i.e. are they M6 too? Individual lobe knobs with M6 nut are quite expensive from fixing company's. Zet spares are £4 a pair and Pyranha a...

Re: French Alpes driving info

Anyone know if it is worth going to the Veneon / Romanche if we are based in Briancon? I'm presuming the detour is going to be massive?

Marmot - Any idea?

Thanks in advance!!

Re: Alps- Water Levels

So what are the current levels like in the French Alps ( L'Argentiere )? Andy H was kind enough to give me a link to St Clement Web Cam as everything else seems out of order. http://www.alpeskayak.fr/webcams-et-videos/webcams-des-hautes-alpes/la-webcam-du-stade-deau-vive-de-st-clement-sur-durance/ U...

Chateau Queyras Web Cam

Anyone know if the Chateau Queyras Web Cam is offline permanently or is there another link?

Coincidentally does anyone have any links for other cameras around the L'argentiere area?

Thank you!!

Cheers lads. I've no problem welding it myself. A plastic welder does a better job. Cheers though for the info!

Anyone in Cardiff got a plastic welder?

My boat has developed a split and I need to borrow a welder to patch it up if anyone will willingly lend me a plastic welder. In Cyncoed area of Cardiff if that helps. Or does anyone know if any of the shops have them?

Thanks!!!

Re: Whats the weirdest thing you have seen whilst paddling

While paddling down the river Main in N.I to one of the main drops which is beside a very nice hotel a couple from a wedding party had wandered to the what they percieved as a nice quiet spot in the woods right beside the river for a quick shag. Wasnt so quiet when we paddled in ammusement!

Re: Down jackets

This is not quite true. If you do a quick google for the main down manufacturers almost all offer a waterproof down jacket. Using mainly their own waterproof fabrics to keep costs as low as possible. You'll find a lot of manufactures using a fabric like Pertex for the outer shell. As down jackets h...

Re: Down jackets

I suggest you go to Blacks, Cotswolds, Tiso and any local shop near you and try both types. You should notice the difference between the both.

Hope that wasn’t too much technical jargon to digest and it helps you make a more informed choice.

Good luck!!

Re: Down jackets

Advantages and disadvantages to both. Realistically down is the superior material with warmth in mind. Down jackets will almost always come in a shell fabric such as Pertex. This allows it to loft (expand and trap air which provides the insulation) as well as being "shower proof"; this does not mean...
