I would have thought the SCA would have posted out a letter to state that two senior officers resigned.
Is it not for the SCA community at large to vote in directors/people rather than the trusty 8?

A fascinating insight. On a similar topic, can anyone shed any light on the slave trade that existed on the Hebrides? It received a mention in Ben Buxtons' book Mingulay, apparently there was a incident where a slave ship snatched to girls from Sandray on the way back to the Americas. If you go to ...

At 4'13" I would definitely try an Xcite S, very reponsive for the lighter paddeler.
But as others say try, and when trying put a load in the boat back and front too.

Theres always Western Ferries to Cowal. Drive to Colintrive, Toward, Kames, etc and paddle from there. Cowal opens up Kyles of Bute, Loch Long, Loch Fyne, Loch Striven and Holy Loch too as well as the clye estuary. Cant see by it really but I am biased. Who would pay for parking. Ferry cheaper than ...

Re: Election of SCA General Secretary
Well done Roddy, thanks for standing. . I'm going to hijack this thread a bit, with a diversion. So, any thoughts on the two questions: 1) What does the individual paddler want from an organisation such as the SCA? 2) Is there a need for a Scottish umbrella group? For clubs? For individual members?...

Get a couple of planning knifes too. These are two hande items with a blade in the middle. A small joiners axe would be good to get initial shape.cp70 wrote:Thank you to everyone for clarifying that for me.

Re: Why are greenland sticks so expensive to buy?
To expand on Mick's point, a Greenland paddle requires a lot of manual work, rather than automation. That skilled time costs money.Chris I have made a couple very theraputic, summer nights sitting whittling away with a planing knife. The tricky part is if you are puting hardwood edges and tips on. ...

Re: Election of SCA General Secretary
Again from a "personal perspective", one of the reasons I let my own coaching status lapse was the cost and time required. Mike. I agree as stated earlier on in thread. I still have my coaching certs and update courses, that I want to do, when I can and are recorded with the SCA. So much so I actua...

Re: Election of SCA General Secretary
If I am not mistaken, the position for regional coaches have been by post. Board postions and I relate to most of the present board is by a duly filled in form at the AGM. If this process has changed I stand corrected. I would also state the vast number of kayakers/canoeists registered with SCA who ...

Nigel speedy recovery and St Kilda like your legs can be accomplished.
No doubt you have various routes other that a civil action against the skipper. I would have thought the race organisers are libel too for not puting on spotters or radio communications with high speed racers.

Put centre of kayak over cab and put front bumper uprights on it.
This will take the weight of the plastic rear roof.
You could also pput bumber uprights on the rear too. This will allow you to take the roof of and pose.
