Re: WARNING - dangerous local Briancon Gorge on Durance

Our group paddled this twice last week. Saturday 25/06 AM we passed a man balancing rocks on a large rocky beach after the gorge, before the weir. We floated by, he didn't seem to be bothered by us. Possibly he didn't even notice us but a check of the video from the river would probably confirm/deny...

I'm similar to you, a bit heavier now. I started out in a club GT Max (as others have mentioned) and have since owned: Wavesport Diesel 80 Fluid flirt L (very briefly, i didn't really fit) Pyranha Everest Pyranha Shiva (current) With size 12 feet and long legs, i've never found any particularly spac...

Re: 5 boats on VW T5?

When I take 5: I make two independant stacks of two horizontal boats cockpit to cockpit. Slide the 5th boat on it's side down the middle (the thinnest). Add some straps going over the 5th boat between the other straps Tighten down the two stacks Tighten down the centre straps. I'll also normally tie...

A runner flagged our car down on the morning of the 2nd Jan saying he'd pulled a kayak onto the bank near Randolphs leap.

Said he'd also tell the local guys who run rafting down there so may be worth checking with them!

Re: Waterproof depths for whitewater

I've had water ingress paddling with my IP67 rated Samsung. It had been fine on many occasions - a year of paddling - but suffered halfway through a 2 week trip in the alps. From my experience IP67 may be sufficient, but it's not something i now have 100% confidence in. I'm now looking for something...

Be aware that the information Lomo give out on deck fits is not necessarily correct.

I got one in the size recommended by them for my boat and the fit is terrible.

Re: Extra Long Roof Bars / Extending ???

I have a set of 135cm bars on my A6 - they fit without modification, and there's still slot length left. There were also 150cm bars available at the time (Thule Wing bars), but the 135cm was already over the standard for my vehicle. I got mine delivered from Graham Goode, i don't think they had the ...

Someone in our alps trip once took them all the way to Argentiere with 4 boats.

They popped.

Avoid them if you can, look on ebay or post a wanted ad here - people can switch cars regularly.... What car is it for?

Lost: Lendal Manias on the river Orchy

My mate Wayne lost his paddles yesterday on the River Orchy. They're Lendal Manias, scottish made with red plastic blades. His name and number are marked on them, but it may now be somewhat illegible. There's also a white plastic camera clip on the right hand side (that may or may not still be there...

Lost Watch - Tryweryn 9th april

I lost my watch in the grassy car park at the upper tryweryn on saturday after leaving it on the roof of my car and driving off to do the shuttle.

It's a grey G-shock with a very recognisable green paracord strap and black buckle.

A beer for anyone who finds it :)
