Re: Three piece Romany Surf sizes ?

First of all, there is no such thing as a standard three-piece. Each boat is built to the exact requirements of the customer. The key limiting factor is the distance between the front and rear (not sloping) bulkheads. It is possible to reduce the length of the cockpit section (by reducing the distan...

Re: Three piece Romany Surf sizes ?

Hi

NDK three-piece kayaks are built to conform to maximum airline luggage dimensions so the largest section will be a maximum of 190cm and usually a little less to allow for protective bags/packing.

Lost paddle at Fowey, Cornwall

Hi Folks Hoping to find a paddle accidentally left propped up against a bush in a car park in Fowey last week. The owner is a very decent lady (one of my students and a friend too) and it would be so nice if it found its way back to her. It's a four piece Celtic Paddle and is unusual as it's a strai...

Both the Romany Surf and Romany Excel have big cockpit openings and no front pod to get in the way. Very easy to get in and out.

"Plymouth Sound National Marine Park" will be the first designated marine park in the UK. "Get in, on or under Plymouth Sound" is the call to action on their website - should it carry a government health warning?

Re: Increasing radioactive discharge in Plymouth

Hi All

Could someone please re-post this into SUP, Angling and W/W Touring so it broadens the readership please? This is an important issue and affects all of us - it's ultimately going into our oceans.

Increasing radioactive discharge in Plymouth

Hello all The Environment Agency is currently carrying out a public consultation on a request by Devonport Dockyard to increase the radioactive discharge into the Tamar estuary. This will affect everyone who comes into contact with the tidal waters surrounding Plymouth. If you paddle or swim here th...

Re: Isle of Man Circumnav?

Hi Mike

Suggest getting in contact with Kerrion Tastagh at Adventurous Experiences on the IOM. SKUK dealer and coaching/expedition centre. Very experienced and his brother Kim too, who has circumnavigated more than once. If you're a FB then via SKUK owners group.

Enjoy the Latitude! Cheers, Rick

Ha, you're getting desperate! Manolo Pastoriza will take you into some pretty hairy places in Galicia. Absolutely no English but a superb coach and a total Greenland paddle expert. Re: Romany wanted

Hi Folks The Romany-LV will be too small for comfort with size 9 feet and 5'10" tall. Charlston14 is spot-on for a Romany Classic. I'm Sea Kayaking UK's Westcountry dealer and can confirm the LV is for small feet. The sportive (rotomoulded) is tight for size 8s and it's bigger than the Romany-LV so ...

Re: Drysuit Neck seal's?????

I have a two year old Typhoon Multisport SK which has worked well so far, even with the glideskin neck seal. As Overfall says, glideskin is more comfortable than latex on multi-day trips - no chafe. I've been dry for rolling and tiderace work. The suit is well-featured with a pile-lined collar which...

Re: How much flex in single layer plastic?

Is the Romany S same as Romany Sport. I see references to Romany Surf RM - are they all the same, I.e., RM version of Romany Surf with fibreglass cockpit rim? Any problems with the mix of the two materials? On the face of it looks a really good option. The "Romany S RM" was a triple layer kayak pro...

Re: Touring kayak suggestions for larger kayakers?

Hi Ragamuffin With the biometrics you've given us your composite options from the Sea Kayaking UK range would be Romany Surf, Romany Excel, Romany Excel Expedition, Explorer-HV and Greenlander Pro. Or Romany Sport if you prefer plastic. They are all very capable but as previous posters have said, it...

Re: NDK Seat Glued In Are they Prone to Breaking Loose

Hi Kayakbiker Retro-fitting the new high-performance seat is a bit fiddly but it will be worth it. It's way better for the posture. The factory use a Methacrylate glue (ITW Plexus MA30) but there are other methacrylate glues on the market. EasyComposites sell one (VM100) which works equally well. Do...

Re: VW T6 Roof Rack advice please!

T-tracks (if factory fitted from new) are rated to 150kg. They have additional mounting points on each side, totalling seven per track. As a specified extra at time of order it's £120 which is amazing value and surprising from VW. In the configurator its called something like "Roof load preparation"...

Despite much interest it is "still around". Unmarked, ready to go. Needs someone to take it on and do something! So all those Epic18X-ers, Pace17-ites and Taran-ettes look out 'cos the Quantum is coming and like "The Kracken" it will change your thinking.
