Re: What's wrong with the SW?

We paddled it at around the 0.6 on the Brushford gauge, technical grade 2 & a bit. There are trees washed against the banks in many places especially around the bridges but all leave a clear run through them. Where the water goes around the islands at tripple waters(?) the main channel was clear but...

Re: What's wrong with the SW?

Hi Mark, did the Barle yesterday, is this bit correct? After four miles, look out for a disused Bridge...the river bends slightly to the right and a rock ledge on river right gives a playspot just above the bridge. Is it not on the River Left? It was the first time i'd done from Tarr Steps down so I...

Re: Wavesport Recon 83 advise

Hi Mark, I saw your lad carrying the boat to the carpark. It looked very shiny & if it's like that on the hull as well as the deck then the scratches will be more noticable. I've had a Wavesport Diesel for a number of years & paddle the loop with it's many rocky rapids frequently. I've never conside...

Hi Mark, these guys, from the AS watersports blog, may have some up to date knowledge of the Exe

I'm sure AS can put you in contact with them.

Re: What's wrong with the SW?

Thorverton Weir got partly washed away around the time of the last two Exe Descents. Sorry no photos. Shame really, as the first of the big wiers it really focused the mind after the long windy flat section from Bickleigh Bridge & the fish steps were fun! Haven't paddled it since so it must have cha...

Re: Waterproof camera

Go for the Panasonic... Here's my reasoning why. I've used the latest Fuji camera, after I was given one when my old camera developed a fault. I can't really fault the new camera & I take it everywhere & I'm very happy with the results. Value for money it is spot on! Fuji's service is excellent too!...

I'd love to say some kind of long multiday epedition but for me but the only thing i'm planing so far will be a surf trip to N.Devon & a two day paddle centred around Gorran Haven. Luckily for me there's a guidebook to the local area so spur of the moment day & weekend trips are quite possible. But ...

Hi All, just in case my lost paddles have made it down past Totnes, Please could you keep your eyes open for them on the Dart Estuary. Re: Moving water south devon

Head to Totnes! From about 2hrs before Low tide at Totnes, the river is about 1m lower downstream of the "Old" bridge in the centre of town. This produces a nice downstream vee ideal for breaking in & out, ferry glides & is rather pleasant. We (Paignton Canoe Club) often use it to give our members w...

Keep the blaze & go buy a G Force. That way you can still run the G4 & do more when playing.
i've got a Fun & while i haven't paddled the Varun, I would definately consider the buying a G Force to do more.

Hope thats not too confusing, Cheers Robbie C
